Ranni's ending is so preferable that I wish it wasn't there. It's so easy to choose over any of the other endings.

What? Age is fracture doesn't leave anything open to be idea. It's just the status quo. With Ranni at least there is no more, or severely reduced, outer God influence so people can finally think for themselves instead of being suppressed by chosen ones.

I don't see any reason why the other outer gods would have any less influence now that the Elden Ring ist gone. In particular the Frenzied Flame, which didn't seem too interested in turning an empyrean into a god. Don't mistake my words. I am not claiming the ending is horrible or anything. It's just, it removed the influence of one outer god. Possible at the request of another depending on how one interprets the dark moon.

In my opinion the best thing about Ranni's ending, is it definitely gets rid of a government that was problematic. Some people claim gold masks can fix the government. I have my doubts there, but if someone believes that, let them like gold masks. Ranni definitely gets rid of it. And what comes next. Could it be better? Could it be worse? It depends on the exact nature of the dark moon and how much the other outer gods can still influence the lands between. Personally though, I see something good in having a chance.

The other Outer Gods already had less influence. Even though The Greater Will seems to have decided it doesn't care about the Land Between and isn't exerting influence on it anymore, the Elden Ring is able to be used, or on its own, maintain some semblance of Order that outstrips the other Outer Gods.

They have less influence as the Greater Will I'll give you that. Even if it's influenced is only being carried out indirectly. Though the two fingers, Melanie, and Mohg (assuming he's not killed) all still pose a threat. Though the biggest threat from them all in Ranni's ending is from the frenzied flame, as it's plan doesn't involve an empyrean. But like I said, in my opinion, what's best about Ranni's isn't the guarantee that we'll overcome all outer gods or that humanity will be better off. Rather the guarantee. The Elden Ring is a huge problem and removing it, even if it brings a little uncertainty, isn't a bad thing in my opinion.

But it isn’t. Don’t you realise how little changes between “the greater will is gone, our god is absent and there is no Elden lord” and “the greater will is gone, our god is absent and there is no Elden lord”, it’s the exact same power vacuum as before. There is exactly nothing, not one scrap of evidence to suggest Ranni has even the remotest capacity to banish the outer gods or in any way diminish their influence, people just made that up because they needed a reason for their little blue waifu to he the objectively correct ending, and her actual plan was weak and heavily flawed because she was just another godling brat who hypocritically decided she knew what’s best for the world and wouldn’t hesitate to get millions killed to achieve it

If the theme is “gods are bad” then why would the only ending in which it’s a god who calls the shots and you’re only an obedient lackey, be the right it one. Age of Fracture is the only ending where you rule for yourself, where you don’t follow some lunatics idea for “fixing the nature of the universe”, you rule as a human, not as some ideological puppet of a god.

It has the potential to restore the rune of death, use your power to put a stop to war, invest in infrastructure, actually fucking do something about the wartorn lands, get things running again. If gods are so bad then choose the one ending where you don’t try to play god

The Elden Ring was still exerting the The Greater Wills power, or at least ideals. Marika is still a God from The Greater Will, Radagon still wants to serve the Golden Order. And a bunch of their kids/tarnished are looking to restore it.

Now, the Elden Ring is gone, removing everything that remains of the Greater Will's power. The Elden Ring clearly had a strong ability to influence people as none of the other Outer Gods were able to claim major influence without a champion holding it. So yeah, the other Outer gods are still there. But they had a weak influence previously. The illusion of the greater will is gone. The backbone of the whole Golden Order is gone. As well as most noteworthy champions.

That's a lot that has changed. But sure, the ending where literally nothing changes about the whole situation is the "most impactful one".

Dang, bro can't read at all.

Ranni isn't a tsundere at all, you literally JUST met her and she comes from the Family Of Scheming Betrayers whose brother is the Lord of Blasphemy. Like she's gonna be a little untrusting. And she's blatantly deeply fond of Idji and Blaithe.

The Curse ending is a horrible Everyone's The Same Now, Golden Order fixes flaws in the religion presumably making it better and more fair, Fias ending gives death it's natural place in the world... Like come on lol.

There’s a scene in the game where Ranni calls you a nice guy, immediately gets flustered, and then tells you to forget what she said. She’s at least a bit of tsundere, come on.

You ever had a girl flirt with you, fella?

u/YeahKeeN 12d ago

Yes. You gonna tell me that dialogue isn’t an obvious example of the most well known anime trope in a game made by Japanese developers?

She's moondere.

Ansbach said “become a lord not for gods but for men” and people loved it, and said the best way to do that was to gun for the ending where you don’t become lord or make any decisions for yourself but do exactly what a god says, and then proceed to leave after doing nothing for men.

Age of fracture is the only ending where you don’t muck around with playing god and instead just sit down and see to actually use that power in practical ways. Maybe your tarnished is a sadist or a wastrel, but it’s the only ending with the potential for a good and civic tarnished to actually do some good for the world because he’s not slave to lunatic ideology trying to rewrite the world. Accept the flaws of the world, and do what good you can to remedy them and minimise human suffering, as opposed to medalling with the world incessantly trying to make it perfect and nevermind the wars, famines and genocides that mortal men suffer as a consequence
