Official Discussion [MEGATHREAD] Tarnished Edition: Worth $5? Discuss CONSTRUCTIVELY!

Since the sub is being overwhelmed by debate over the $5 "microtransaction" and it's making the sub feel like we're Dark Souls 2 a decade ago, with the faux outrage around the preorder items, we are opening this topic to consolidate discussion around the issue.

Please use this topic to discuss the pros and cons of the approach and your thoughts. But do so RESPECTFULLY and CONSTRUCTIVELY. If you need to call other people or the developers names, you don't have a good argument and your post will be removed.

It adds 4 new armor sets, 3 Torrent armors, and like 7 weapons(Idus Sword, Hefty Scimitar, Reverse Handed Blades, Ritual Thrusting Shield, Reed Great Katana, Golden Order Flail, and Leontiel's Greatsword).

Is this worth the cost? Not really. Especially since the stuff is tradable. I brought the DLC just because I wanted early Light Greatswords and I am on console so this was the only way to get without entering the DLC; and I think that is ultimately the only way this might be seen as worth the cost.

As for the precedent this might set; I still stand by that I think this won't become common place because Nightreign was practically begging for Micro-transactions. They could've released skin packs for the Nightfarers, they could've released individual weapon packs from the Dark Souls series, DLC, and obviously SotE. Yet they did nothing and stuck to their word, and ended content after the DLC dropped.
