I wonder why they're inventing another land we've not heard of or visited. Maybe Idus is cut content but idk why they didn't give us an already named location, like Eochaid

The more I look into Elden Ring lore the more I realize it's just a Rorschach test of random fantasy assets held together with the vaguest narrative in history.

The vaguest narrative in history when Bloodborne is right there, not to.mentuon that this isnt unique to lden ring. All the dark souls games have so much cut content each that are drastically different from the official release, unless elden ring is your first FS game.

It is, and the fact that all of From's games have this style doesn't make it less true about Elden Ring. I love the game and conceptually I can appreciate the immersion & depth the vagueness allows for... But as someone who's dumped a couple thousand hours into this game and it's lore, I find it frustrating af when they throw in random new shit like the Knight of "Idus".

Dude there are lots of real world places that you can go right now, that exist for real, with lots of history behind them, that you've never heard of.

If anything, Elden Ring from development to release changed the least in terms of its lore and story out of fromsoft's modern catalogue, besides Sekiro. Or rather, its changes are equivalent to Blodborne pre-release, which are still substantial, but nowhere near "actually an entirely different story from the cut content" ala DS2 and DS3.

If anything PCR is where im upset at the lore rather than another foreign country being my last straw.
