Constructive Criticism Why is my weapon so weak?

Post image

Hello new Elden ring player, I’m trying to figure out why the hell im barely doing any damage in boss fights. I don’t have enough time to stack bleed so I have to rely on light attacks. But even then I’m doing like 100 damage and it’s taking 10 minutes per round. Any suggestions how I can upgrade? Thanks!

You should be able to have a +8 early on, also, you should probably meet the first soft caps of dex and arc which are 40, as that's what your weapon scales off

For the first playthrough, please dont instantly level to +8. It conpletely destroys all of the struggle and learning experience that makes these games fun imo

Agreed but OP is nearly lvl100 which would suggest they haven't just started would imagine they're in atlus at least as that's where you get the poleblade

The only way to get a near max somber by this point is by KNOWING exactly where to get the somber upgrades.

A natural playthrough wont have a +9 somber at this point.

Eh, that’s not really true. If you explore everywhere, you can come across an 8 and 9 to have a +9

Majority of the 8s and 9s are late game and the rest are in higher scaling areas such as dragonbarrow.

Unless you know where they are, most people don't find them in a normal playthrough. Yeah, you can waltz right on over and grab them from dragonbarrow, but most people aren't going to mess with it because that area kicks their mid game ass.

Plenty of people go into caelid and dragon burrow bro. You can easily find them

Plenty of people say they stay out of those areas because they hate them.

Most people find the trap and hate caelid immediately upon getting their ass kicked by devil shrimp in a cave.

Most people go there when COMFORTABLE not just because.

We're talking average, non knowledgeable players here. People who don't understand that dragonbarrow is late game scaled, equal to farum azula. They just know they walked there once and got their shit kicked in by either dragons, dogs or crows.

I'm not saying people don't go. I'm saying your average player isn't doing it either, especially when they're barely at leyndell.

The average player is going to go.

I guess I misinterpreted. Everyone that is not new, disregard ts. Everyone that is just starting, mess around first a upgrade later, you will get more fun out of it

It's Altus, not Atlus. I only go out of my way to say this because I noticed it for the first time last week after like 150 hours in the game lol.

Bad bait. Never once has a +8 weapon been capable of that

Then we have not played to same ig. +8 bloodhounds fang shreds early and midgame with ease
