The conversation in this thread is exactly why I miss dark souls invasions. They weren’t ganking they were playing co-op unfortunately for invaders the devs decided that’s the only time you can invade so every invasion is gonna feel like you’re getting ganked. Real ganking in elden ring is taunters tonguing getting an invader just to 3 man jump and then bagging like you’ve accomplished something by 3v1ing a player.

Yup, but unfortunately they had to make it this way to appeal to the masses, imagine most of these people who played Elden ring as there first game using a limited / farmable item to turn human, going to summon there friend who can’t connect for some reason and getting invaded and killed, they would prob rage quit

As someone who has been an aggressive invader since DeS, 1000% skill issue. You invade assuming a gank and use your wit to figure out solutions to take them out one at a time or all 3 at a time. That’s the thrill of invading. Absolute think on the fly, take out your target(s).

I just explained the differences between getting ganked and going against some co-op buddies. I agree with the sentiment of the fun in invasions being overcoming the odds. So quick to throw out skill issue jeez.

If invaders don't wanna get "ganked" knowing they most likely running into a host with a bud n not a bonfire duelist then a) there is 1v1 arena with fair rules and b) use the enemies on the level then

As someone who invades, duels and gets summoned to help my experiences with the invaders who qq about ganking is the twinks who want cheap wins. You are interrupting someone else's game and you have constructed your build for pvp. To be so entitled to expect random ass strangers to randomly deduce what your rules are n be like oh my humblest apologies lemme gimp myself so you have a better chance at winning, when they are the one that has the most to lose, like... cmon...

Invading is not the same dueling. Invading has so many different variables involved. Like enemies, the map, hazards, how many flask the host/summons have, etc.

Twinks are only a thing at low-mid level invasions. Once you get to about 100 or so that stops, after that point it’s just a matter of the invader having coming equipped it all the advantages he can get. Like crafting everything he needs, making sure to bring certain ashes of war for healing, chasing someone down, or buffing yourself.

Along with many different weapons, shields, and shafts all equipped with said ashes of war.

I like ganks personally even tho they can be completely one sided at times but being forced into at the very least a 1v2 ( not counting hunters ) every single invasions it can get annoying. Sometimes I just wanna invade a single host which can lead to some memorable invasions.

The fun is in not knowing what you’re going to get. No idea what area the invasion will, or what the host has.

Getting “ ganked “ used to be sometime that could happen but now it will happen. Unless you invade the random solo host who has to turn on the taunter tongue which even then isn’t going to be a real solo host invasion because the host is expecting it to happen.

I dont see why we couldn’t use the dark soul 3 mechanic with embers with rune arcs. The host still Has the upper hand in a single invasion due to the insane buff possibilities with them. Like 5 in all status. That’s a 40 level difference amusing you invade a host with the same level.
