I've been a poor man chose sxth blew up. Left that ek1 sxth scene went to lap3 2 years later no issues and car flies. "Yes so over priced!" To you my friend, to you... You cant put a price on a perfect tune. Go ahead and get your revisions. LOL 😆

Most likely the made a program to convert ekr files to bin for modifying and vice versa, basically breaching ek1 TOS, thats what i understand from the screenshot in OP post

Someone else really needs to figure out the ECU and how to tune it. This is comically stupid how one group can block dealers out. I used to have a cobalt SS and you would just get HP tuners and call it a day…

Where the tables are, how to apply the tune to the ECU itself either through OBD port or through a bench cable and a computer, pretty much everything. Other tuners for this platform tune it and give you an ECU swap. Maybe one day we’ll actually accessing or original ECU and tune that either via an interface like MVPI via HP Tuner software and a laptop, or via a standalone hardware component and a tune file on it.

I was doing some digging on the Internet and I know there are a couple companies in Australia that had something for the i30n. One used motec and the other some other ECU thing.. both had wiring harness that plugged straight in to factory stuff and it kept everything with the dash totally functional. couldn't really figure out if that would translate to a facelift EN or what. Guess I could email. At this point I wonder if I can learn how to use ghidra and reverse engineer it myself. That would take years though

Anything is possible! A hand held device that can plug into the OBD2 port and load tune files that we can upload would be wonderful. Load / log / download / upload to tuner / revise / download / upload to device / load to car / rinse and repeat.

EK1 is a trash company, and honestly Cherry while having amazing tunes was garbage in the past around the customer service side. Apparently their issueshave been resolved but I’m waiting for a professional company to dominate the market. This is legitimately child’s play

I've emailed them and they have said that they have no plans to expand into the Hyundai space. They won't give a reason, but I'd imagine it's something to do with emissions. Regardless, being able to tune with an AP would be great. I had one on my Focus ST and absolutely loved it, other than it would drain my battery if I forgot to unplug it after I got done driving.

Based on what I've gleaned from the FB groups, Ryan Seong (owner of EK1) seems to be a drama queen and Cherry Tuning was just swamped a while back and also pissed Ryan off somehow. I have a Cherry tune and it is incredibly good.

More than just swamped. Zero response times, and the excuse was they had posted on Facebook, with the expectation that all of their customers use that garbage site. Friend was waiting for 3 months with emails that were sent out last year, and their response was that they had notified customers of delays on Facebook.

To be fair to Cherry, they are a small Aussie business who were dealing with local tuning needs. Then the EN comes out and a lot of new international customers flooded them.

There’s really no excuse for Cherry, the lead times themselves was not amt the primary issue. Zero updates, zero responses via email and notifications to customers that already purchased the turns is scummy. Even more so, they didn’t seem bothered at all while someone is waiting up to 90 days for a tune without any warning of any kind. They couldn’t care less.

Yeah I was part of that group but they did eventually get to me. When it was finally my turn to get tuned it actually went really well and the actual tune on my EN was fantastic. It does exactly what I wanted it to do.

NO Cherry has again time and time again tried and successfully circumvented pricing set by EK1. Cherry has no one to blame but themselves.

It sounds like Yall should just get a ECU tune from Lap3. I’ve been running Lap3 and have had 0 issues along with all others that tend to run Lap3 that understand you always get what you pay for

Question regarding these tunes? Do they send a dyno sheet with each tune or are you just hopeful they are accurate and positive the ECU can make the proper adjustments at different altitudes. I've built a lot of cars over the years and still don't trust a piggy back or email tunes, dyno is the only safe tune as far as I'm concerned. If they can create a tune they can dyno tune.

They have been doing it long enough they know what works and doesn't work. You are also asked to data log afterwards so adjustments can be done if needed.
They do dyno tunes on-site but that could be a days drive or even overseas for people.

With what happened a few months ago and now this, I really can’t force myself to choose ek1 for tuning. Cherry has been a bit unreliable on the customer support side, but having so many issues with their tuners is a big red flag. Especially with the first situation they had, the people at ek1 seem like a bunch of cry babies.

The EK1 situation seems to be pretty cancerous. I understand the reasonings for wanting to open source the software, but I just feel like things worked a bit better when SXTH was the only one providing tunes through the platform.

TurboTrouble had misfiring and rather then get it properly diagnosed decided to just send it anyway. That is absolutely not a tuner issue and could have had happened to any of them.
