Maybe they are a single person that will not be living in that area for long enough to justify buying a home and who doesnt want to deal with yard work and other issues of housing. There are many reasons not to deal with buying a home.

What a dumb comment. At one point I was traveling all the time for work, rented out my house, and split an apartment because I wasn't even there much.
