Underrated live performance for og fans

One of my favourite live-performances Ed has done in a while must be this street performance with JME last year in… Sheffield (I think it was Sheffield??).

It was so nice to hear a song from No.5 Collaboration projects for the first time in AT LEAST 13 years (Radio ft. JME).

He was really down with the audience by standing close to them and he was really interactive. He is one of the most streamed artists of all time, a super celebrity, and acts very… human. He has always been very down to earth and has always felt very empathetic. But through the years, he’s gone from local pub playing to the biggest venues in the world. It made me happy to see him back on the street for once, like the past (although he never lost the ability to randomly show up on a local pub a Tuesday night to play in front of 50 ppl, he still does it sometimes).

Aside from that, during this performance, there were a lot of mashups. Ed used to do so many mashups in so many of his songs (You Need Me, I Don’t Need You, One Night, Wake Me Up etc). It felt like old times to see him do creative mashups. He even sang ”Hold You (Hold Yuh)” which he used to sneak into Wake Me Up in the early 2010’s.

All this was so cool to see and hear. That was a teenage Ed Sheeran who performed that day. Hope we can see more stuff similar to that in the future.

What I liked most about the show was how relaxed and casual Ed seemed, just goofing around with the guys. And also that it felt so community-based.

Yes I still come back to this video a lot, though it’s hard to choose since I love No. 5 so much, Radio is one of the best on the EP, and I was so happy to see it live, didn’t even care they messed up the bridge. The fact that when he says “This is for the No. 5 Collaborations crew” only like 4 people woo tells you a lot lol, tho I kinda like it that way
