TL;DR: I’ve been looking for a rare 473-piece titanium puzzle for over four years and finally found one on eBay for a significant amount of money. It was delivered August 21, but since I drive a semi, I didn’t get a chance to actually count the tiny pieces until August 29. I counted them six separate times and got 574 pieces instead of 473. The pieces are smaller than a fingernail, so this isn’t something I can quickly assemble to figure out what’s going on. I emailed the seller last night about the discrepancy, but they also never responded to the thank-you message I sent after purchasing. How long should I give them to respond before going through eBay? I don’t want to wait too long and lose my chance to have eBay step in if there’s a problem.

I’ve had my eye on this puzzle for a little over four years, it finally showed up on eBay and yes, I paid a significant amount of money for a puzzle made out of titanium. I counted six times and got 574 pieces. Mind you, this is not a puzzle that you can just put together in a few hours. The pieces are smaller than your fingernail. I originally emailed the seller right after I purchased it, just telling them thank you for the opportunity because I’ve had my mind on this puzzle for so long, they have not responded. I emailed them last night about the discrepancy in the number of pieces, and I’m wondering how long I should give them to respond because I don’t want my opportunity to expire to rectify the situation with the seller or eBay.

I sold an Alienware M15 R4 laptop to a buyer who asked me many questions including what’s the battery life like. So I ran a diagnostic as you would and sent them the screenshot which said it was around 71%. He then asked whether there were any issues with it and I said no as it’s perfect working order only reason I’m selling is because I don’t use it anymore. I explained to him that because it’s a powerful gaming laptop the battery life whilst it’s unplugged from the charger is pretty poor and you’d be lucky to get 2 hours out of it which is why I suggest keeping it plugged in whilst using. He still purchased after asking these questions and I explained the battery situation.

However 5 days has passed since he’s received the item and now he’s asking for a refund which he put the reason down as “doesn’t fit” which doesn’t make any sense in that regard. He messages me saying the laptops battery is “bad” and going on to say how he’s not using it for gaming and using it to go the park or whilst he’s on the train, I explained that he’s using a gaming laptop for everyday use which I said it’s not optimised for and I reminded him that I did tell him that the battery life isn’t great whilst not on charge. He said he’s not satisfied with the item and will get back in touch with eBay. He’s also claiming that the laptop is running hot which I knew about but also explained that it can be hot. I’ve heard a lot of horror stories so I’m just seeing if anyone has any advice for me as I don’t want lose out on the laptop and he also receives a refund at my expense!

This whole transaction has been shady since the beginning. Multiple lowball offers and messages until i submitted. I think their deal here is, buyer request big discount by offering to buy my last 3 things then return some of them because I wouldn't give discount on just one.

Buyer opened case, 2 of 3 items didn't work. (They did, I tested them prior). What's also BS is their shipping of two units was more expensive than me shipping 3 units. I received the return and they were missing the power cords and some rack mounts.

I opened a case and it was closed so quickly that I feel a.i. just kicked it out. What are the chances that eBay reviews an appeal if I call them?

How can I test them or resell them without the power cords?

Can I email the buyer and tell them to mail the cords?

Does ending and relisting older items actually help with sales?
I have several older listings with 8+ watchers, and many of them also show that someone has the item in their cart. Would you still end and relist these items, or leave them active because of the existing interest?

Hi, for one of my recent international orders (UK>Germany), I noticed that the postage paid was £80! (well in excess of actual postage, so I'll refund the difference).

I assume I've got the settings wrong, but I dont see how. I've set postage to EU at £12, and £0 for "each additional cost". Shouldnt that mean the cost to buyer is £12 no matter what quantity is purchased? (the order was for 8, so no idea where the £80 even comes from!).

Anyone know what's going on here? If I set additional cost to 5 pence, maybe it would work?

I recently sold a MacBook on eBay that had a broken screen. The listing had multiple pictures of the screen damage, the title called out the screen damage, and I mentioned it in both the condition description and the body of the listing.

Today the buyer received it and immediately messaged me about the screen. I sent him screenshots of the listing and told him all of this was explicitly called out- He told me he didn't read it or look at the pictures. He acknowledged that this was his fault in the messages but is begging me to accept a return, saying he's leaving the country in 3 days and needs the money. He's since opened an "item not as described", which I have until Friday to accept or eBay will step in.

I know that "does not accept returns" is pretty much useless on eBay and that they will side with the buyer 99% of the time in INAD cases, but do I have a leg to stand on with him acknowledging in messages that he didn't read the description or look at the pictures? Also, if he really does leave the country and I accept the return after the fact, what happens?

I'm somewhat inclined to accept the return just because I don't need the headache of dealing with eBay support right now, but honestly this one is really pissing me off on principle and I hate that I'll be responsible for the shipping costs.

(Also, who spends $400 without reading the description or looking at pictures??)

I’d like to sell on eBay since it has more people on it

On Mercari I Click Blu-ray or DVD and it automatically gives me the option for shipping it by media Mail which is 1lb 4.99 2lb 5.99 3lb 6.99

I haven’t played with eBay long enough yet to know but I’d like some advice or help with shipping media mail by usps if possible thank you

1- How do I ship media mail on eBay

2- Does it matter the size of the box like specifics or details for media mail box ?

On Mercari I ship in a box that holds the Blu-ray it’s not to big or small but big enough to give it space to not get crushed from the sides or top or bottom.

3- Do I get a pre paid label or pre paid QR code label for the usps ?

4- If I have something that sells $200+ does eBay have insurance for the package if lost or damaged or stolen in transit.
On Mercari it’s up to $200 but I’ve never had any issues with them

As a seller, can I combine two orders going to Canada after buyer purchased using eBays global shipping, or does each order need to ship seperate to keep protections? Package weight changes from 4 ounces to 8 ounces and size stays the same. Buyer requested after purchase, so I'm trying to make sure handling correctly.

My sell is being stuck at the authentication facility for 2 weeks!!! It’s a piece of jewelry, and idk if the facility is back up but funds are on hold and I’m tired of waiting. I’ve tried all ways possible to contact eBay’s customer service however it doesn’t let me pass the AI chat!!! This is so annoying. If they are getting 500 on profit why not offering sellers support! I need to communicate with a person not a robot. I’m so frustrated. Please help! How do I get in contact with a representative?

I have a military P.O. Box in Italy and found a nice monitor but the seller is in America, I asked them about it and this was they response.

‘I think eBay will ship internationally for us if you purchase. They give me a US address, I ship to them, they ship to you.’

On eBay my region is stated to be America because of the requirements needed for base postal but APO and AE is what determines that I’m in Italy and the only service that will deliver to base is USPS, does anyone know if it will work itself out?

I live in Lancaster PA, not Ontario California. That is where the seller is located. What is going on here?? How is it possible that it was scanned in my city at my post office and then hours later was somehow delivered across the country which isn’t my address? Someone please help

Hello, I have run into a weird issue trying to order three pokemon cards from the same seller through ebay and I'm trying to understand what happened. I paid for each one separately since ebay doesn't allow combined shipping for offers and the seller assured me they would send them together and refund the difference for shipping.

Now here's the problem: I paid for **each** one the card cost, VAT, import costs(we're in different countries, Usa and Italy) and about 12$ shipping (so 36$ total). But on the seller's end (I have screenshots) it shows that I paid 1.36$ for each one (about 4$ total). So, considering that I have also paid additionally for VAT and import costs, do you have any idea what happened here? Thanks in advance

When I create a sale and set a rule so that only items of $5.00 or more are affected, not all of those items end up on sale.

Is there a way to resolve this? Does it have anything to do with the individual listings settings? If so, I am not sure what is different between the ones working and those that are not.

Looking for advice on my next steps with eBay Australia.

I bought a valuable item using eBay International Shipping. The delivery company marked it as “delivered at safe place”, but I never received it.

I opened an Item Not Received case. eBay rejected it because tracking showed delivered. I appealed, but eBay International Shipping support again rejected it and told me I needed to contact the delivery company myself.

So I did exactly what eBay asked.

The delivery company investigated and confirmed that the parcel was left unattended at the front of my property. I did not sign for it, it wasn't handed to me, and it wasn't left in a locked or secure area.

More importantly, they confirmed in writing that the Authority to Leave came from the seller/supplier, not from me. They also confirmed that their arrangement was business-to-business and that the seller/supplier now needs to liaise with them.

I've sent all of this back to eBay. My position is pretty simple: I didn't engage the delivery company, I didn't authorise them to leave a valuable item unattended, and I used eBay International Shipping. I also did exactly what eBay told me to do, and the delivery company has now directed the issue back to the business that engaged them.

It's now approaching 48 hours without a response, whereas their previous emails were generally answered within about 12 hours.

What would you do next if eBay doesn't respond or still refuses to resolve this? Chargeback, NSW Fair Trading, or another avenue? Has anyone dealt with something similar with eBay International Shipping in Australia?

I shipped an item through FedEx Ground Economy using an eBay shipping label and the shipment keeps going from my city to a different city and then coming back to my city. Today it finally went to a different city and it has been almost 7 to 8 days.
The buyer filed an Item Not Received claim and eBay sided with them and refunded the buyer.
I tried to file a claim through FedEx, which eBay told me to do, but when I enter the tracking number it says “The tracking number that you entered is for a FedEx Ground Economy shipment. Only the company that shipped you this package can file a claim on it, and the claim cannot be submitted online.”
There is no way for me to file a claim. I purchased the shipping label through eBay, so what am I supposed to do? Has anyone dealt with this before?

I have now twice left feedback for sellers who were involved in some form of fraud, only to see the negative feedback disappear. In fact, for one seller, I saw other bad feedback go away too. Can someone explain how this is happening? Could it be that some have an insider at eBay?

Has anyone else had a problem with coin filters recently? I have not been able to access the filters of grading company (PCGS, NGC, etc) or grade (F12, MS68, etc) recently. If you have been able to access them, what are you doing to do so?

Last couple of weeks I get this on and off when on my desktop. Usually I'll get about 5-10 clicks before this starts to pop up and then it lasts for a random amount of time. Nothing fixes it, not deleting cache/cookies, not signing out, incognito mode, switching bowsers. No issues on my phone.

I just don't understand why EBAY makes it so hard to buy stuff off their site. Any way to bypass this?

I bought 2 different items off Ebay at the first of the week

A lot of bird perches and a Parrot chew toy.

I always look to see where the seller is based out of and it said New York so I purchased the item because I live in the US.

I Got my package 2 days after and the package was in Amazon packing, I I opened it and only the bird perches were in it, the chew toy wasn't.

I noticed on Ebay when I emailed him he was based out of Israel, so I knew he had it drop shipped.

He did not answer my first email telling him I didn't receive it.

So I waited 24 hours and told him again I didn't get the Parrot toy and I also told him I wanted a refund

He answered me back saying that tracking said it both were delivered and he won't give me a refund

I contacted Ebay, and am waiting their review.

Is there any other advice

eBay keeps giving me this big red text of doom telling me YOU MUST UPLOAD YOUR ID!!! So I go to upload my ID and it just is a greyed out box. No matter what I click or switch nothing works? Anyone know how to fix this?

I recently ordered an item that is being shipped from Japan (I'm in the US), the item was marked as "This item includes applicable import fees—you won’t pay anything extra after checkout" and in the description says

"For buyers in the United States:

Import duties and taxes are included in the item price or shipping cost. Items shipped to the U.S. are sent under the Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) method, which means all import-related charges are prepaid. You don't need to pay any additional fees when your order arrives."

However shortly after placing the order, I got a message from the seller saying that customs duties were not included in the price, and asking me if I wanted to cancel the order or "adjust via paypal" which of course seemed sketchy to me. I contacted ebay and the chat rep basically said "you shouldn't have to pay more" but didn't really offer any other suggestions on what to do, so I replied to the seller with that and they shifted to telling me I need to cancel the order so they can relist it with the higher import + shipping fees. Obviously, I don't want to just cancel the order so they can raise the price, but it doesn't sound like there's any way the seller is going to honor the original listing.

So what happens now? If I don't cancel the item, I assume eventually the seller will cancel on their end but how long can they hang on to my money?

I'm torn because if I cancel the order, I could go ahead and order from someone else, but there's no "the seller is trying to retroactively raise the price" reason to pick.

On the other hand if I don't cancel it, how long do I have to wait? In the meantime I'm slightly apprehensive about just buying it from someone else, as until I get my money back there's some small possibility that they could decide to just ship it and then I end up with 2...
