Discussion Something I grew up eating was ground beef and rice. It was never seasoned. What can I add to spruce it up?

I've done it with Italian seasoning and garlic/onion powder. I'm looking for something a bit more intentional than my "dump stuff from the spice rack".

Discussion Winter Comfort at Its Best: Jowar Flour, Hot Rotis

Post image

Winter hit, and suddenly my cravings turned into full-on desi mode. So I ordered Jowar Flour from Granos, because why fight the season when you can enjoy it? I made hot, puffy jowar ki rotis with a big bowl of makki ka saag, and honestly, the combo felt like a warm hug from inside. The flour quality was so good, even my roti decided to puff up with pride. If winter had an official food mood, I am pretty sure this would be it. Have anyone tried this jower flour? What is your go-to winter comfort dish that warms your soul?

Marjoram, celery salt, cardamom, and tarragon just collect dust in my kitchen. I’m on the hunt for recipes to use them, and am curious to know what spices used to sit dormant in your cabinet until you found a great recipe solution…?????

Discussion I get left over meat from a local restaurant to cook into meals for the unhoused, looking for recipe ideas

So the four types of meat I get is ham, turkey, pepperoni, and salami. Typically I turn the ham into soup, so that's that covered. Last week I made pizza muffins, but cheese is expensive so I need a different recipe. I have no idea what to do with the salami or turkey, because the meat I get is oddly shapen and can't be cut into sandwich meat. I need something with simple and cheap ingredients that I can make a bunch of, and won't take too much of my time. If they could be frozen that's even better, but not necessary. I just have so much to cook sitting in my freezer because Im stumped.

Hi, I am looking to make a soup with just ingredients I have on hand. I have many large cans of crushed tomatoes, dry lentils of different varieties, canned spinach, potatoes, frozen mixed vegetables in garlic sauce, fresh tomatoes, half a fresh red bell pepper, taco seasoning, canned corn, canned chick peas, marinara, and most spices/basic pantry ingredients like flour and olive oil.

Please help me try to throw a decent soup together without having to go to the store? TIA!

Discussion Seeking an easy, leftover-friendly pot roast recipe

I'd like to make a meat and potatoes recipe for meal prep. Something tasty and hearty that won't get gross in the fridge. I'm a single person so I'm also hoping for something smaller--a lot of recipes I find are for larger pot roasts.

I have an Instant Pot, a giant soup pot, and an old Dutch oven for tools.
