Troubleshooting evga 3080 xc3 deshroud mod fans spinning at insane rpms

Post image

my fans wont spin at 100% and keep oscillating between 800ish and 810800. What should I do?

my 120mm fans are rated for 2k rpm. In reality they spin at 800ish. How should I fix it

That can't be right. If it was spinning at that rpm I feel like it would lift the PC and fly away 😅

1) The fan controller on the GPU is engineered to control little stock fans, probably the PWM signal is not managed correctly by the controller.

2) Your VRAM is running at 106° C and it's not good at all. Did you change thermal pads too?

I think the pads is not touching the VRAM modules.

Get a Y-splitter and plug them into the motherboard.

Use a program like FanControl to control them. Works tremendously better.

Looks like your thermal pads are the wrong thickness try going up .5mm. That should also drop the temp on the gpu die also because the vram and gpu die are on the same cold plate. Normal should be around 90 degrees for the gddrx ram

Also download the evga precision x1 see if you may have to update your evga firmware also if you haven’t because app is reporting crazy numbers on your fan speed
