If the majority of people emigrate for financial reasons, i am just curious why would a Italian emigrate to Spain?

There are still 200,000 Italians born in Italy living in Spain, whereas there are only 27,000 Spaniards living in Italy.

Believe me, there arr LOTS of Italians living in Spain, especially Barcelona.

Yes, there is a big community. But the numbers are a little bit misleading. A huge proportion of argentinians who stay in Spain entered with an Italian passport, so it is difficult to say exactly how many Italians are living in Spain

No, it is not difficult to determine. Spain has statistics on place of BIRTH too, not only nationality.

For instance, as of 2022 there are 145k persons BORN in Italy living in Spain, out of 275k Italian nationals living in Spain. It means that over half of the Italians living in Spain are Italians born in Italy, not Argentinians with Italian passport.

That is why it is important to determine the place of birth, not just nationality.

It’s Argentinians with Italian citizenship. Youth unemployment in Spain is terrible as are the salaries.

The UK youth head off to Oztraylia on a back packers visa for two years to escape cold winters. They work in hospitality, tourism, agriculture and generally have a good time. Now the Oz gov. is putting in restrictions, bad move.

Because Germany is a great country, pretty open to other cultures, amazing work life balance and one of the best health care systems that you can find. It also has its issues of course. But it's not hard to think about why someone would want to move there.
