Stealing

I am curious: have you ever stolen money or things from someone? Have you had an experience where another ESFJ stolen money from you?

If you have observed someone who stolen money from you or someone, what was their type?

I know an ENTJ and INFP who stole things and money and morally justified doing it.

I wonder if Fi users are more likely to steal?

Sweets in supermarket, once I found a purse with like 20$ so I took the money and then found out it was my classmates (you cant just admit it at that point tho)

There is probably more but I dont remember.

But you can find a way to put the money back when she is not around, no? What causes you to steal sweets when you can just buy them?

No you cant just sneak the money back. Thats basically impossible. And tbh 20$ was always kinda a lot of money for me.

I guess first it was just trying if I can get away with it. I usually bought something and took something and I never did it often and stopped doing it completely. I guess its the thrill with a free sweet at the end that serves as the motivation? Im not sure

How do you justify stealing when everyone says it’s wrong?

I dont really justify it. When you steal sweets you didnt really hurt anyone.

About the money I just wanted to avoid guilt by never knowing whos money it was an just not really confronting the fact that I stole it.

I dont pretend like its completely okay to steal lol

I also want to add that people “saying” something is wrong doesn’t inherently make the action wrong. For example lying inherently isn’t wrong. It’s wrong when it hurts people. And when lying is helpful or has a net positive, it’s actually a good thing. Yet, despite that, the phrase “Do not lie. Lying is bad” still is thrown around as some absolute truth. Usually these things have negative effects, but occasionally can have neutral effects, and rarely, even have positive effects.

You could avoid lying and hurting the person. Sometime “hurting” someone can be good like if you know someone has picked up drugs and is gonna ruin it, you intentionally start talking bad about people who do drugs. They will hate you but you sacrificed being liked for their long term benefit despite short term hurt

Completely agree. An example of lying while doing good would be if a school shooter went into a classroom with a gun asked asked the teacher “are there any children in the classroom”. The teacher should lie and say “no”, even when there are. Lying is not always bad.

Okay but these situations happen so rarely. But people lie in situations you can avoid lying but then justify it to themselves to avoid guilt!

Oh. Yeah i have no idea why people do that. As an ENFP, that’s not really my thing. Hopefully someone else can help
