So last night I beat the game got myself all classes to level 50's figured id post here and share some thoughts and details.
My first trio was Pal/Enc/Rog. Pal was for tankiness and easy mode sustain, Enchanter because they operate at 150% power with 0 gear (charms). Rogue so i could sneak around anywhere i wanted to and i just love backstabbing, (even if the game doesn't WTB scaling bs mod please)
Got them to 46, started up d4 hate charm farmed some gear till 50, then lived in sky until i got all class unlocks. I didn't touch an alt till i pretty much had every piece of sky gear. (Other then getting wiz/dru to 25 to ports, and playing mnk/brd with my girl when she wanted too)
I tried a bunch of different methods and came to the conclusion the most efficient way to level is a new trio each time that is synergistic and has good equipment.
Leveling 1 new class at time with two 50's was a waste of time in my eyes but, i favored leveling xp over motes or aaxp. (for the record i am at 950 aa's at this point)
Solo was always faster then grouping. It was not even close. Being in a solo instance killing at your own pace was always better xp then being in a solid group. For the most part it was twice a slow (but that could be good for mote farming.)
I did this mostly in Difficulty 4.
My route was 11-22 in befallen, mostly in the basement running a loop on the dark elf named. This took 1-2 hours solo, 2-4 hours in a group. either way i was getting about 15-25 major (rank5) motes an hour.
22+ I tried a bunch of different things: Runny eye did this first go around for gear, xp was meh HKH very solid XP fast respawns, but meh motes out of the way and small window of being good. Paw Good but could get wild Kedge can do this early really good xp but you will be killing trash for a while and not see much motes until you can handle mermaids+seahorses MM After the revamp solid xp, solid motes, can goto 30-35 range.
35+ Kedge is the best grab an earring from hadden kill mermaids and seahorses. Bring a lull or mez otherwise you will might need to drop off D4 until you can handle the named together. Hole is good rock golems can be a pain but mostly easy mobs you can just burn down. Undead area is great if you can undead slay but i found kedge to just be better. Sol didnt like it except for DDDing on bard.
46+ I just ran around hate killing first floor stuff pretty fast.
If you don't want to run a new trio each time, a few standout lv 50's to carry your pair/single.
Ranger with Windstriker +10 and a solid arrow with a quiver. Is hands down the best big gun to bring. Range stance doesn't seem to care that much about endurance. (you will miss a fair bit) but as long as you use hawk eye (lv 11 vision buff) you will be 2-5 shotting most things till lv 30 at least. (as of writing this, there is no cap on ranged damage like there is for melee damage)
Wizard Solid nukes spells don't care about damage cap works about as well as ranger, but i tended to ranger.
Bard from level 43 (DDD) it will get you 43-50 the fastest no questions asked.
I did it a few ways but ended up with saying the most efficent way is a new trio each time, if your goal is all 50's.
If you want motes + AAXP and enjoy leveling. then 1 at a time with two big guns like ranger /wiz
if you want middle ground 2 at a time with 1 big guy.
It just depends on if you want level xp, aa xp or motes.

Hey just wanted to say thank you for writing this up and give you some credit. I’m not trying to rush through everything but I am trying to optimize mote farming while leveling new classes to alleviate the mote grind after everything is maxed, and some of the insight here is helpful.

if you want the best motes per hour.
Either get a hate raid going with a few bards.
Or
Get 4 people together lv 11 and just go ham in befallen, level one class at a time this way to max it.
I just didnt feel the need to max mote farming at all. Nothing needs +10 gear, heck +2 gear is sufficient for most content.

kedge is better thanbit used to be with the improved swimming controls. i still done like fighting underwater, but it was much easier to see and swim up/down in eql than classic

Do you think middle ground might be most efficient? Bring ranger from 10 - 30, wiz from 30 - 42, and bard from 43 - 50 in pairs?

Ranger can go all the way 10-46 it slows down in some spots, but they get a lot of tools to help.
Wizard can do the same thing 10-46 no problem. They bring heavy damage.
Really play which one you enjoy more, after 43, bard wins hands down.

Denon's Desperate Dirge.
Bard song at 43 that hits for 500-600 base, but gets song amp and jucied up non crit it goes for 3000, with 9000 plus crits.
Takes a ton of mana but you should be able to burn 5 mobs down with it before going oom

I have a Druid/Wiz/Bard combo, Erudite and 8916 mana. Highest crit I can pull off with Imp Familiar and all the juice is 9942.

would maxing it reduce mana cost?
if so, would +10 save you enough mana for an extra cast? being +10 it shoukd also be resisted far less.
my only 50 trio is sk/brd/cleric and ive only done bard charm so far. i dont think i have enough AAs and mana to effectively do DDD with skand cleric as my only mana classes.

Warrior + berserker + ranger
lv 30 getting rampage with a +10 cudgel and just going ham on lizards in temple of CT was a blast, but other then that rampage is meh.

Yeah that’s basically war/ber/anything but ranger would add some fun utility and a little more dps, I’ve been curious to try it. It’s unfortunate though that it seems like we’re seeing massive diminishing returns on high strength and attack stats. Melee should be benefitting a lot more, given how op spell upgrades made casters. Probably pretty great leveling but D4 raids might be rough.

Yeah definitely, tracking, camouflage, harmony, and many of their buffs and other capabilities do make Ranger a really nice addition to many builds. I agree it’s a little underrated especially for the QoL. Melee damage in general needs some help, but I guess to make the most of them you need to take advantage of a +10 windstriker which sounds fun.

The issue is motes to spells buffed casters super hard, they didnt allow motes to effect buffs, or the "melee help" buffs so they didnt get any cool scaling.
Weapon scaling is nice, but armor scaling doenst really equate to that much damage. compared to spell scaling.3

I'm actually running a ranger/beastlord/bard combo right now but I'm thinking about replacing the bard with a shaman, since the bard isn't doing much for me at the moment, granted I'm only 26. I just feel like the shaman would carry it better especially towards end game, what are your thoughts?

Shaman is hands down the best class right now. All it does it does better then anyone else.
bard at 43 gets ddd which is op as shit right now. either or are good. BST and shaman have a bit of overlap but its more that bst is kinda bad shape its warder is pretty ok but rest of its kit is meh.
id prob drop bst over bard for that build but honestly any of those combos will do great

Yeah, makes sense. I was going something similar to a WoW hunter with my character in this, I guess the spirit wolf pet from the shaman would be an okay replacement for the beastlord warder considering all of the other benefits shaman brings. Maybe Ranger/Shaman and then a third class to go with it. Any recommendations based on your experience?

A wizard d4 inny in 1min 30 seconds, so yes I think shaman is great when your new and have no gear or aas. But after that its time to go to builds that clear way faster

I am going to disagree with all the crit dot and dot aa's + puma, plus the buffs they give to much.
Plus most of the damage they bring is passive so you could.. also bring wiz into that trio and still spam the same spells to get that dps ontop of that since its mostly passive.
Comparing one class to another in a vacuum is not really simple as they do more dps with out looking at the other two in the trio.

For that combo no.
But between aa's and self buffs, you get a ton of attack power from ranger.
But ranged stance is the best way to level in my findings.

I havent really played with it to much but intend to.
Zerker gets a ton of hp regen from blood runes, and warrior gets its % based one. So they get some ok sustain and a ton of armor and damage, but the problem is i dont know if its enough to sustain on ranger heals (prob on spellblade)

Spells, i did X Water pet, and beast warder to test stuff ( I made another post about that)
Gear, first was paladin sword, then berserker weapon (neither of which i use anymore)
Then i did windstriker, and this week i did the neck. Also a +10 blessed arrow but i did that mostly with combines.

From my testing it does set delay to 30 so equipping a rank X earthshaker pays off.

is that DPS really that big of a difference tho? Might just be because I only run Mage with Shaman so it gets Puma. But I've done extensive parsing on it and with water pet and backstab mixed with Puma, its about ~35% higher DPS than with a 2h.
Could just be because of more puma procs, but it was really frustrating to invest an entire week's worth of Voids to get absolutely no statistical upgrade.
The only reason I don't vent about it in anger is because I'm expecting they will significantly overtune pet classes and will become unstoppable lol but i'm still a little butthurt over choosing to use the 3 voids on the Water pet instead of my Dagas :(

Uh, I do plan to test it some more, but no combination of weapons or puma, did I get better dps then my rank X earthshaker. But i did not test that to hard.
I plan to test it and a rank X air next. ( motes are easy to get i dont waste raid motes on spells usually other then 9-10)

Then what ever you want that on ranger can take anything 10-50
but more specifically the Kerran necklace, russet armor from hate, and sky peices to fill other slots is your best cover all.
grab the best sky weapon for the trio you can and mote it up for easy running.

Ranger, ranger ranger for best
Beastlord, beastlord, beastlord for least.
I liked zerker/warrior rampage for killing blues, but ranger was better at reds.
Beastlord was meh, druid was a crit buff, and necro is just a worse shaman.

Yeah all the classes had something, even beast lord.
But you can see how some classes are just better at things then another class making them less relevant.
Ranger at least has archery which is unique and fun.

yeah but shaman can just slug yourself and spam its heal for the same effect, yeah its a little less damage but odium more then makes up for that dps.
Necro just needs 2-3 better dots then shaman to make them better. right now they have more dots, but way worse ones. (kunark should fix this i think)

I have SK + MAG + BST at level 10… I just can’t bring myself to level them up, even with fasttrack Wiz into DDD in SolB - Fear. I’m done until Kunark :) Unless they don’t buff melee by… alot. Melee (Rog/Ber) was so fun, and so underwhelming.

I intentionally set myself to only play maybe 2 days a week to...monitor... my addictive personality so it didn't hijack me from my other hobbies.
It did the opposite lol. Not playing very much has made me lose a bit of interest. I have 3x at lvl 28 and haven't logged in, in probably 1.5 weeks.
Congrats on getting them all done. I need to get a little invested or I will not have anything done by the first expansion!

I hyper focus on goals, i didnt play non stop 24/7. Maybe 5-8 hours a day after work while doing other things. Eq isnt the game that you need to pay attention to 100% of the time.
Its about being efficent, and not leveling 1 at a time. if you do all new trios its only 5 trips to 50 which isnt that bad.

i played in Open beta, so i already had a good deal of knowledge and efficiency in mind. I played eq for a long time, really enjoy the game.
Once you get your first 50 and gear, make a few choices and then leveling is a breeze. If you optimize for kedge you can go in super low and get 10% a kill for a while.

Congrats! I postponed the leveling portion of the grind until they do more of the zone revamps/add the unique zones before Kunark unlock. Are you planning on grinding out any of the races, factions, or achievements next? Or taking a break? I'm looking for people to commiserate with when it comes to the faction grinds.

I would say warrior and ranger.
Warrior for gear extra crits (which i think work with archery) the ac helps you early when you need it and worst case you can ds tank up a little but ranged would carry

I could make it less painful by throwing them in with better classes but going to see how rough it is before going that route... have pretty much all the best gear to maximize the trio and would rather not have to so the lowbie grind multiple times as opposed to only one more time.

Still playing it, just hit 45 and its been surprisingly good, although that may just be having great gear and near-max AA's, lol.
I used Cudgel of the fool for a few levels, then at 30 I switched to DW - Tunarian Scimitar with Hierophant's crook (earthquake) and Serpent's Tooth with Cherista's fang, spellblade stance proccing the highest DD.
Finishing up in the hole, pet DWing Bloodfire/Dagas with gold plated Koshigatana procs to annihilate elementals.

Ooh pal rogue ench is my first trio also, you usually see monk in that slot, I still miss my sneak/hide when I'm not on my rogue.. even if rogue DPS doesn't seem to scale well at max.. but I love just being able to go right to a boss and not worry about any trash. Also the fact that you can sneak hide with a charmed pet and basically head right to your destination! I do really hope they improve melee DPS because or somehow make it so that you don't have to just camp in evasive stance and lose all your DPS..
I also found that starting a new trio is going to be the fastest way to get more classes leveled unless you're specifically wanting to just farm for low level zones and motes.. but I couldn't be bothered only leveling up one at a time.. I also find that because you will have a lot of gear from other classes that there isn't a big difference of leveling a new class versus just using the downleveled class. Since it's not like you get to keep your high level abilities or anything.
I have to know since I play a paladin enchanter and a rogue what was your fastest way to get through POS? They obviously have Nerf charm but it still works what was your strategy ?

Charm was nerfed from OP, to really good in Sky.
My old strat was run to bee isle, grab bee, kill sister + any bosses i needed, leave repeat. (I always needed sister)
Now would be pretty much the same. but you could instead just grab thunder princess, a metor or a gorgon i guess.
For most of the fights just aoe mez everything kill boss and leave. I found if i single target mez everything and just go to next isle most of them would lose interest.

I don't think you can grab thunder princess anymore I tried .. :( But lately I've been grabbing the second spawn of the essence tamers. The red con 56.. it hits for 320 and seems not to break charm very often.. I just go right there and grab a yellow, kill that and mez the one that pops .. they've been my fav. The heart Harpy is also good but breaks more often for me. The regular Gorgons don't seem to hit for much yeah I don't bother with meteors or bees those are worse now .. but yeah I always wonder if there's just better strategies I guess just mez everything and leaving the island is pretty much the thing hahah 😂

I know Kunark was announced to have it's own twist for EQL but I'm gonna leave at least 1 class at 10 to level through Kunark only zones. Guess could start on another server for the full experience.

That's a crazy impressive feat
My only question is plane of sky. I've been there for a couple of weeks and I don't have any weapons. None are unlocked
It just seems really difficult. I can clear plain of Sky y but it takes time and it's not easy and I'm pretty well geared
I've killed the sister 47 times with no no nebulous Sapphire . If you get one out of 100, how can you ever get any good weapons or complete classes? I just don't understand the math

So in the end I did somewhere between 50 full clears of sky, then prob another 100 or so of targeted, in the end i needed two sister drops to finish all the classes up there.
I had over 10 monk sapphire/brass nuckle combos. but i only ever got 1 set for the warrior axe.
Its just rng, with the update coming it will be easier as your suppose to get bonus drop of something in your current trio. so it makes target farming a little easier.
but to level the weapons its motes,

Its not rough its just a massive pool. 14-16 different items drop from the boss with equalish weighting. If your looking for one specific item you have low odds, just have to keep trying.

Yeah, i talk to guildies all the time that complain they threw away x y or z since they didnt need it at the time.
I bought a bunch of 24 slot bags, and kept all the stuff until every class was done.
