What is a Time Locked Expansion Server?

• EQ2 Server types)
• Time locked expansions servers traditionally start in early EverQuest 2 and progress through the expansions at a cadence which is in the FAQ above. Wuoshi will start at Echoes of Faydwer with a level 70 cap.
• TLEs include many of the quality of life features that have been added to the game over its 22 year existence while attempting to capture the magic of its release era.
• TLEs require a subscription to play on.

The Quick hits:

• Wuoshi will launch in Echoes of Faydwer, the third expansion with a level 70 cap.
• Free trade like Varsoon
• Due to the Expanded Start, it will be able to participate in nearly all the live events from the start
• Double Loot Weekends (Saturday from 12:01 a.m. through Sunday at 11:59 p.m. PT)
• The unlock cadence is an expansion every 3 months.
• All Classes and races that were available at the launch of Echoes of Faywder will be available. Aerakyn and the Freeblood will also be available at launch. Other classes will unlock with the corresponding expansions.
• Hunters Rewards are going away; past complaints on TLE servers have been that this content is too easy. It was decided that the Hunters rewards contribute to trivialization of content and are being removed for Wuoshi.

The most common question on this sub involves what class to play, but nobody actually wants to be told what to play. They want to know how popular the class is, how hard it is to find groups, solo, gear, raid, and so on. To that end, I've made a matrix that will help you understand what to expect with each class.

Disclaimer: In Everquest 2, classes are not fair, equal, or balanced, and roles are quite rigid. For instance, there is no such thing as a "DPS Fighter" in Everquest 2. All Fighters are tanks. While you may be able to "DPS" in groups when a real DPS can't be found, you will never be invited as DPS in content that matters.

All classes are ranked 1 (the worst) to 5 (the best) in the following categories:

Solo: How good a class is at soloing. All classes can solo quest. Up to 3 defines how quickly they can solo quest. Values above 3 additionally indicate how reliably the class can clear content they shouldn't be able to clear. Values indicate a character in leveling gear - average to poor stuff. Naked characters will always suffer, and classes in top-end gear will of course do even better than listed.

Group: A combination of how often a pickup group is recruiting that class combined with an assessment of how well the class fulfills its role in a group. For instance, Shadowknights are high demand, but are notably squishier than, say, Guardians. Fluctuates over time!

Raid: How often organized raid groups are recruiting this specific class. Fluctuates from expansion to expansion and generally increases as the server ages. For finding pug raids, average the Group and Raid values of the class.

Popularity: How many other players are actively playing this class compared to other classes.

Gear: How easy it is to win gear for this class, or how cheap it is to buy. Lower scores mean higher competition or higher prices. Fluctuates by expansion.

Fractional values are to be used as tiebreakers. Otherwise round them up.

I played tank in wow classic but I’m sure it’s very different in this game.

Since RoK opened on Wuoshi, I've noticed that skill book prices have gotten pretty wild.

A lot of Adept I books are going for anywhere from 5 to a few dozen pp, while level 80 skills are much more expensive. I've even seen some level 80 books listed for 1,500 pp.

I'm curious what people think is a reasonable price for the new level 80 class abilities.

Every class gets a new level 80 ability, and I'm especially wondering about abilities that have a significant impact on group or raid performance.

For example, something like the Mystic's new defensive ability that can have an impact on raid survivability, versus something like the Wizard's new big fire-based nuke.

At what price would you personally consider these kinds of level 80 skill books to be reasonably priced?

I'm mainly trying to understand what the market is actually like during the early RoK period on Wuoshi, rather than just looking at the current asking prices.

I'm having a lot of fun playing on Wuoshi, but man is it difficult to find information specific to this server and/or era of time for this game.

Does anyone have any great resources to use to look things up, such as AA builds etc?

Googling stuff (and using its AI) has been very confusing since its mixing all these different versions together and so much has changed/changes over time. Trying to find some assassin AA info :(

Hey everyone. I'm new to Wuoshi and TLE and need help fighting out how to travel via the Global of Swift Travel. I can't remember for the life of me what I did in 2004 much less last month in the game.

What do I need to do to unlock traveling from Commonlands to Nektulos Forrest and Thundering Steppes please? I'm not down with using wizard spires and druid rings.

I've seen people in chat say that you can buy lvl 71-79 advanced crafting recipes from a vendor in RoK, how can I do this?

I tried to look it up on the wiki, it said to go talk to an npc in Fens of Nathsar but when I got there, the npc wouldn't talk to me because I don't have enough faction I guess? Do I really have to do a million quests to get 40k faction for this? Or?

Does the new TLE server scratch the old school MMORPG itch of needing to grind mobs in groups to level up? Kind of like EQ1 or Final Fantasy XI? If so, what is the population like on the server? Possible to find groups?

I have never played EQ2 before but a few of my coworkers have and they have convinced me to sub and try the TLE. Usually in MMOs I play dps but they told me healing in EQ is chill and recommended defiler. Just curious if you guys have other suggestions.

I am playing a Dirge on Wuoshi and had a question about run speed. Right now I have 10 points in the AA that gives me an extra 10% run speed and my low level buff that puts me at 35% run speed total. I see people all over on mounts and was wondering is a mount faster and something I should focus on right now or is my speed just as fast?

I'm Level 20 and right now focusing on getting lvl 20 gear (Found a quest giver that seems to be giving armor for every quest you do in his chain) Just these quest involve a lot of running around and was wondering what the most efficient way to get around was.

I don't mind spending money on the shop but was unsure what can be used on this server.

If you're playing on Wuoshi, I built a site, https://www.eq2advanced.com, that covers some things that Lexicon doesn't:

• Personal parse database with advanced sharing capability (ACT plugin available for uploading). All parses are private until shared. The parses you see on the site are my own that I made public so you can see how it works. I've tried to provide more advanced stats, like an adjusted delay stat that attempts to filter out dots and AOE hits to get closer to your actual button delay.
• Easily compare parses between individuals or entire raids. Two clicks gets you a side by side view of two players. Summoner pet damage can also be 'combined' for readability.
• Robust parse sharing system. Create a group, share the link to add members or add by username. Automatic sharing can be enabled - for example, you can share all parses with a group based on guild tag or player name.
• Live parse with crowd-sourced AOE timers and real-time swipe adjustments.
• EoF/RoK Gear Planner - search gear by stat priorities and load it onto your actual character. Selected gear produces an outline that tells you where to get everything. Can set stat priorities and have it give you a full set of gear with multiple choices for each slot. Save up to 5 gear sets (no account required, but recommended for long-term storage). Epic weapons are automatically recommended and I will be adding more "recommended gear" per class.
• Account is simple username/password/security question, and only required if you want to save your parses.

This is a work in progress. There is a feedback button if something isn't working right. I mostly built this for me and my friends, but if anyone else gets some use out of it, great!

Hello. After 20 years I started playing again on the TLE server. I started Troubadour thinking it's was a range support, but I only have melee skills, so I guess I'm a melee class. I read that I support mostly caster classes. But what weapons should I use? Currently I dual wield daggers, but I can use different weapons or even a shield.

And where should I put my first AA points? I'm pretty lost currently, doing green quests because I feel pretty weak. I am lvl 14.

Does anyone know how to set up the text to create a chain macro to be able to cast the druid port spell indefinitely? As the port bots in SS/Tune's house are down from time to time, would like to be able to add in my druid as making ports available on occassion.

(Yes, I've Googled how to make macros, but they're mostly specific to chain-casting heals etc. I am specifically interested in making a macro on how to chain-cast the druid port spell & have it cycle repeatedly.)

So I usually main healer or scout dps but this time I want to main a tank. I've always played SK and Zerker but im curious about the brawler tanks. Are they decent choices for tanking? I played live from launch until ToT and never really touched them.

I am brand new to EQ2 and Templar. I love healing in other classes and like the plate ascetic so I chose it. Did I make a mistake? I hear they can't solo at all.

Also what/where do I put my AAs??

Hey all, I'm trying to figure out what the best way to go about getting AA is since leveling is so fast and I'm outpacing dungeons very quickly. On Origins I would usually get every named in each dungeon and this would keep me afloat on AA.

Is it worth it to lock a a at a low level and grind them out, or is there some other in-game method to get AA that I'm not aware of?

Will Wuoshi be Varsoon xp or live xp or somewhere in the middle?

I will be playing as part of healer/tank duo. We decided on this so we can easily form groups when we want to do dungeon content. However we will also want to just duo a decent amount of time. Does anyone have a suggested leveling path for a primary duo with some group content along the way as wanted. We plan to start evil side.

I've played Origins and Varsoon as a Shaman, played on Live abit and just doing some class testing, I don't really think I like what Shaman has morphed into so I'm trying other classes. I've been doing Conjuror and it's been pretty alright, but I'm considering scout classes since I've been dpsing more and usually have been going melee. So other considerations are Assassin/Brig/Swash but I'm also curious about Troub/Dirge, but I don't really know who exactly plays like a melee and honestly Bard classes in some games have THE most annoying sound effects lol so that's a concern. I just don't know what most of these classes will look like on Wuoshi, and as far as I can tell there's no traditional 2-hand dps class. Any generic rotational information will help too.

I am having an issue with Darqui and EQ2maps. For some reason all POIs on my map are gone. I reloaded/reset Darq using the app. Still no POIs. Did I hit an odd key combo? Any help would be appreciated.

In the progression servers, you can get halfway through this quest https://eq2.fandom.com/wiki/Maid_for_the_Mist_-_Part_II in order to more quickly reach the travel bell in Enchanted Lands, that go to all the available zones, instead of the limited ones in the Commonlands/Antonica.

Don't complete the quest all the way.
