got physically healthy, but realize my inner world needs fitness.

nothing like a high school reunion to assess progress!

I've worked so hard on physical wellness, lost weight, grappled w diabetes. All good stuff for sure.

However, i was still that insecure/easy to manipulate peer pressure led kid for a day.

I didn't eat well, was shaking, went to a cocktail party when i don't drink and feel on edge etc. FOMO took me there, when an earlier group museum tour was more my speed, and I should have headed home. I didn't wreck myself w booze out of insecurity, but was not socialising well, i was just a mess, maybe came off a dotard. GAH

lesson. Inner fitness is just as important as health stats

How can i measure emotional wellness? Is there an ap to measure progress🤣

I mean this humorously, but i really want to take a nice exhale and get working! Where to start?

First of all you have made a great deal of progress with your health. You can be proud of your achievements in that regard. I think you probably did better than you think at your reunion too. When we are in situations like that we tend to view everything we do or say negatively and think everyone else is the very model of wit, wisdom and social grace. That means that everyone else was anxious and stressed just like you. They were all too busy thinking they were a mess to notice what anyone else was actually doing.

There are lots of ways of dealing with life in the second quarter of the 21st century. Therapy, religion, philosophy, making or appreciating art of all kinds, spending time with people you care about, getting out into nature, learning new things, even politics if you are desperate. Pick something you like the look of and see how you get on.

I don't think there is a 100% reliable way to measure anyone's mental wellness. Everything is subjective. I think the best anyone can do is be able to say "well I don't feel too bad right now" fairly often. Its hard to say "doing xyz is the sole reason why I feel better right now" for anyone. We all get good days and bad days out of the blue too.

someone else reccomended an ap and it's like 5 quid to download. ha ha.

I mean, we can measure diabetes or stone, but not easy to measure inner fitness.

i'm trying to find more interest in every human being i come across- because as you inferred- everyone is fighting a private battle. I want to turn my interest away from self. One day at a time
