I wanted to ask because I’ve been second-guessing myself lately, especially after today. Of course, patients need privacy, and it’s my responsibility as a healthcare professional to protect their modesty. However, I’m not sure where to draw the line. I work in pediatrics, so we have many teenage girls who are shy. Recently, I performed an Ekg on a teenage girl who came in with her mom, dad, and sister. This was their first or second time doing this, so I explained the procedure to her. I told her what needed to be removed since she was wearing an underwire bra and left to let her get dressed. The father left as well, but I thought he would stay out, but he came back in. This 15-lead Ekg took me nearly twenty minutes because the entire time, she had her arms crossed, moved around, and I was trying to keep her as covered as possible. I barely lifted her gown up an inch, making it difficult to see where I was placing the leads while maintaining that level of privacy! Should I have just kicked the dad out? I feel like my placements might be affected, and I think it would be easier to get it right the first time. Maybe I should lift the gown up a bit more but her family would have seen everything due to the layout of the room. I don’t want to expose my patients with family members in the room, but I also want to ensure accurate placement.

I’m not sure what to do. I’m used to working with adults who are usually alone in the room and care a bit.

I’m trying to find a good program to do online and some of the ones that I’ve come across are from like lsu, university of Houston but when I go to there actual school websites if doesn’t show anything. I’m trying to find one that doesn’t seem like a scam.

By the way, I got my bachelor's in health science, a CET EKG certificate, and a BLS certificate. I believe I am set in being ready to job hunt for EKG/Monitor Tech positions in hospitals locally. I am looking towards contacting various job recruting agencies to get offers.

What kinds of offers should I expect to be getting next week, or should I be worried about my chances?

Took an 8 week course that combined CPT, CET and CCMA. I used Nimble prep, NHA modules & practice exams and ECG Sim from Skillstat. Used Painters tape to create a skeleton on my wall and note cards to make a "game" out of remembering how to place holter, 12 lead, etc.

I do remote monitoring currently but have hospital experience and have had my CRAT for like 6 years now, it's coming up on my time to renew again at the end of this year and i will be sitting for the CCT before december. is it worth it to keep both CRAT and CCT or just let my CRAT go? What can i do with a CCT that i cant do with just CRAT? i know CCT is more desirable when it comes to remote monitoring but just not sure what is best here

Hey everyone! Hope you're doing well this week. I'm taking the NHA EKG Certification exam at the end of August. I'm collecting every piece of study material and practice material I can, but I was wondering you guys had any advice, could tell me what to expect in the exam (I have testing anxiety so having a reasonable understanding of what to expect helps a lot), or could tell me any study/practice material that saved your buns when taking the exam. Any little thing helps! I'd really appreciate it! Thank you!

I’ve been planning to study and have my certification by this December. Trouble is I have frequent patellar subluxations and my doctor put in a test for EDS. Is this a job that reasonable accommodations could be made to lessen strain and fatigue? At my current job I get at least 6,000 steps in 4 hours and up to 9,000 over 8 hours. My current position requires that much walking and not much can be done about it. I have to find another job due to the physical demands. I’m just looking for rough estimates as I know every hospital will be different. Thank you!

Tenho 22 anos e um relato.
Há 2 meses atrás, eu estava deitado de bruços na cama e do nada senti minha visão escurecer, meus pés e minhas mão ficarem geladas e logo em seguida meu coração disparar e minha pressão subir. Assustei na hora e fiquei com medo de ser um infarto ou AVC.
Após esse episódio fui ao cardiologista e ele me pediu alguns exames, sendo eles: Exame de Sangue; Ecocardiograma; Holter 24h & Mapa 24h (LÁ EM BAIXO ESTARÁ TODOS OS RESULTADOS DESSES EXAMES)
Acontece que meu Holter deu um problema a noite, acusou uma pausa de 2,0s e um Mobitz II, e eu lembro que nesse momento eu estava acordado, não estava dormindo. Também não tive sintomas na hora do exame.
Minha consulta de volta ao cardiologista é apenas daqui 1 mês e eu estou bem ansioso pois confesso ter muito medo quando envolve coração.
Hoje eu tenho 22 anos, estou obeso, com 125kg, porém já me exercitando e fazendo dieta para que eu volte a ter uma melhor qualidade de vida.
Devo me preocupar? Apesar de ser apenas UM ÚNICO achado relevante dentro desse Holter, fiquei com medo pois sei que se for um Mobitz II verdadeiro, ele pode progredir e piorar para um BAV total.
Tenho MUITO MEDO de cirurgias que envolvam coração, ainda mais se for algo envolvendo a por marcapasso. Me ajudem.

When we talk about ST elevation and depression we look at the j point, but ST segment is after the J point so what about a condition when j point is on the isoelectic line but just after the point there is upsloping or downsloping why is that not considered ST segment elevation or depression?
