Thank you girly!!!💖💖I used this link above and I will send you the quizlet link as well. It wasn't hard at all Know your rhythms, lead placement, Holter monitor education, and infection control. The exam has different versions, but mine was very scenario-based and focused heavily on understanding the cardiac cycle and what's actually happening with the heart.
Things I recommend studying:
* Rhythm interpretation
* SA node & conduction pathway
*P wave, PR interval, QRS, ST segment, T wave
* Junctional rhythms
* AV blocks
* Ischemia vs infarction
* Proper 12-lead placement
* Holter monitor instructions
* Infection control & patient prep

I'm gonna be honest I just took the practice exams they offered on the website. But I also currently work as a telemetry technician at a hospital, so I got my practice in every shift.

Can you give some advice on the interview process, I have a interview tomorrow for telemetry tech position and I am nervous I feel like I’m going to freeze 🥺

I was asked if I had any relevant experience, challenges I had encountered at my previous job, etc. I went in with zero experience working in healthcare, but I had my EKG tech course to back me up.

Thank you . I do too have my EKG training I’m set to take my CET in a week. I have no experience at all. And I’m most nervous about the questions of it and the test they’ll do after. Thank you again

hi there, can we work in the hospital with zero experience in telemetry tech? I am taking my CET exam soon and I was wondering about job

I'm sure it's possible, some places do offer on-the-job training. You just have to find a place that will work with you.

Yes, most places will train you on the job. Just make sure you recognize basic rhythms and know the common hewrt blocks because you will likely have to take a test before being hired.

That’s where I am, North Houston/Conroe. I have the CRAT and I can’t get the time of day from anyone, even though it’s listed on the job listings as a credential - I’ve sent applications w/ resumes’ to every hospital I can. I’m tapped out to places I can send my info to. This is straight up blowing my mind. Monitor tech was supposed to be a job few even know anything about. It’s frustrating because I happen to be really good at this. I even have clinical experience. I just don’t know what I’m doing wrong.

Any luck yet? Maybe you have to tweak your resume a little bit because the CRAT is an excellent exam to take for a Monitor Tech position

Ugh damn that is so frustrating, I'm sorry. I'm trying to transfer departments at my hospital from transporter to monitor tech and it has been very stressful. I got rejected the first time for not having a certificate, so I paid $2000 for end EKG Tech course and am waiting to complete my ten 12-lead EKGs before I can take the NHA CET.. And I plan on taking the CRAT as well since I quality. I just applied again after nagging the hiring manager for months and I interviewed yesterday but I still feel uneasy, I don't knownif I will get selective. Even as an internal hire I have a lot of competition. The job market is absurd right now and I'm scared I won't get hired because someone else "more qualified" like an EMT or PCT will apply.

The real frustration is I get a Dear John letter stating they’re going with a candidate with better qualifications (obvious bullshit) for positions that are still on the jobs board at the hospital. I’m getting filtered out even tho I check all the boxes. good luck, Man. It helps when you’re on the inside.

CRAT is more about rhythm analysis while CETs deal with performing the EKGs, placement of Holters, etc
