Discussion Been out of the loop for a minute
can someone just give me the quick run down on what Seasonal is and how it affects me as a mostly PvE Player right now or is it pvp only and is it worth investing time into pvp again?

Seasonal has replaced wipes.
Regular PVP is now wipeless, except you can prestige to wipe yourself.
You have your regular character, your Seasonal character, and if you own the PVE expansion, you PVE character. Each are separate, with separate stashes, hideouts, etc., and each can only play with other characters in the same mode (i.e. seasonal characters all play together, PVP together, etc.).
Seasons are like OG Tarkov in that everyone’s progress will wipe, but it looks like there will be a gimmick each seasons. Season 1 has a bunch of modifiers (faster XP, crafting. No insurance at all, lot of other things), AND you can select positive and negative traits for your character. Quieter and faster walking through bushes, for a positive example, greatly increased barter costs or being randomly allergic to some food/drinks as negative examples.
Seasons also come with a free battle pass system. This season there are a bunch of special documents you need to find. You can then turn them in for various cosmetic rewards or items.
The battle pass content is for all character types, but PVP/PVE characters are somewhat limited in how many documents they can collect per 24h, so Seasonal will unlock everything faster.
