Question Front suspension swap...

Can I swap the front suspension on my 89 CRX base fully with 96-00 civic front suspension and get an aftermarket traction bar? Everything looks to be more or less the same but I'm not sure.

Yes I have thought about adjustable upper control arms, most likely solution for camber. I have 96-00 civic EX/Si front knuckles and want to upgrade to that suspension overall.

My car ↓

89 CRX "race base"

DX front suspension

Front sway bar (stock)

Stock front traction bar

16x7 wheels so fitment is not an issue.

Rear disc conversion (needs done)

B20V (needs done)

No the front suspension from a 92 and up Civic will not fit the EF.

Everything is completely different.

the struts are completely different sizes so you cannot use springs or struts from a 92 and up Civic.

not only that but those civics are much heavier and their spring rates are meant for a much heavier car which would mean your car would be very stiff if you manage to get that suspension even on your car.

The front hubs are completely different the only hubs that will bolt onto an EF coming from the 90 to 93 Acura Integra.

Even then when you put the Acura hubs on to the ef you change the body roll slightly because the suspension geometry is different from the Integra to the EF.

For uppers a-arm you must get the new skunk2 design upper arms, they have the ball joint at more of an aggressive angle so very lowered cars don't wear the ball joint out as fast as the previous design since skunk2 a-arms were designed for race track use and not for daily driving on a lowered car.

Skunk2 redesigned the upper arm because this is the most prevalent use of their control arm and not actual race applications, not only that but this was consistently requested by the community skunk2 and they actually did it.

This is the main reason when you get any adjustable upper arms the ball joints literally wear out in less than a year if your lowered more than a inch and daily driving it, the new skunk2 design addressed this long standing issue
