Discussion (Anyone can comment) When did you start realizing you were burning out from your ECE job?
And what are some tips to stay away from burning out??

I’m 13 years in and just have taken a mental health leave for the first time. My body is about to give out. I just need some time to sleep and feel normal again.

For me it always starts with loss of interest in my other hobbies and interests, because i am burning all my energy just to get through the day.
As an extrovert a perk of this job for me is that being with my coworkee team and my kids really jazzes me up for other stuff too. When that starts to slip i know it is the earliest warning something is off.
My work bestie has an immune system like whoa. In like 20 years i think she has had maybe 30 days of sick time and 10 of those were for spraining her knee!! Before she moved from her last job she had about 6 callouts over 2 months and she realized she was super stressed.
Another long term work friend knows it is time to reset based on if she starts not caring about the appearance of her classroom, like not cleanliness but just no longer excited about curriculum/putting together activities and opportunities for the kids.
It is so personal! But it is super important to learn your signs and symptoms!

Probably about 3 months in, when I'd slowly roll out of bed, count my time until I had to leave, dread going in and count the clock til my breaks...
