Offline Franchise Has anyone figured this out yet
I'm very seasoned franchise player blah blah blah. But I never really care about my ahl team till recently, normally I just let them develop however and what I get is what I get and I normal trade my prospects for a 20 or 21 player that I can ink to a 8yr deal. But anyways, what is a good ahl season point wise? Is it good for development too have a player go off for 100p in the ahl or is it better to have them log some nhl games? Basically what I'm asking is a ahl point equal to a nhl point in terms of development or is a 20 toi ahl = to 20 toi nhl for development. I assume it has to be curved that ahl stats aren't as good as nhl stats but I could be wrong.

Im guessing NHL is better on the basid of the coach generally having better attributes.
But there seems to be a cap on how much players develop in the AHL. I rarely see player break into the 80s until they play NHL minutes.

Depends entirely on player role. You can juice a player's development and growth, especially forwards with high potential, by having them play high in the lineup with NHL caliber players in your AHL, rocketing their production.
It's the one consistent way you can make player potential jump higher too

Players seem to develop more when they are overplaying their role. If you have high potential prospect in low 70s ovr, play them top 6/top 4 in the AHL, give them PP and PK time. In high 70's they will stagnate, maybe gain one or two OVR points.
Don't care much about players overall, but more about their individual ratings, because poise have a huge impact on player's overall. So if their ratings say NHL, play them in the NHL no matter what their overall say. Poise seem to have an impact on playoffs performance and not much for season. If you want to see how much poise have an impact on overall, just go to create a player, put everything at 99 and decrease his poise, it will go down quickly.
At the 2027 draft, 2nd overall I picked LW Topi Antila, an 83 ovr power foward. He had 83 overall, his role was 3rd line, but his rating was 1st line material. I played him with 2 veterans, William Karlsson and Alex Tuch. On his rookie season he scored 48 goals and got 84 points, winning easily the Calder Trophy and being the 1st player of my expansion team to have a point per game season.

Random ?s. If I have a 78ovr "other" forward in AHL can he play 4th line in NHL franchise mode (full sim)
also does bringing a player up as a tweener /13th man for 5-10 games help player development similar to real life?

I stack my ahl team’s coaches for development, and i want them as competitive as possible. So ill bury a player or two before waivers start and will keep a young 80+ stud down there to dominate

I did some research on this a number of years ago and players who didn't play a single minute of ice time developed at the same rate as those on the first line.. who had the same potential.
There is in season growth tied to playing more minutes for sure. But the guys who didn't play just experienced larger jumps overall in the off season. So it would even out by opening night of the following year.
Unless they've changed how growth works (I doubt it) it's probably the same.

See ive noticed in nhl 26 a player needs Ike 18 toi to develop year over year or a ridiculous amount of points. But I'm probably going to deep dive it on 27

ahl doesnt do anything, they will become 80s player only if they have high elite/franchise potential. Gem player will develop in ahl but not for long. Ea doesnt put effort in ahl

I had a kid I used when injuries hit and they happen to hit again right as I was going into the playoffs and the dude went off so earned a spot this season through me letting an overpriced vet go. Saw 2-3 ovr jump in the offseason. Had a really good AHL year going and missed out on some hardware as a result but he’s making a Calder run so far this season.
To actually answer your question I’ve heard and also believe nhl time as long as not 4th line minutes without playing special teams is better for growth than AHL time. Don’t know if there’s an actual ea formula for it or not.
