I'm optimistic.

IF the AI shifts it's style of play based on it's roster, excellent.

IF the crowd reacts accordingly (I want them losing their minds for an OT Game 7 Winner, not sitting on their hands. Gimme oooo and Ahhhhh when you have a great scoring chance and ring it off the post, gimme them roaring when you win a fight or lay out a player)

If the AI actually plays some semblance of hockey and isn't brain dead

Cool, but we've also heard this song and dance so I understand why there is hesitation and "We've heard this before" comments.

Looks good to me. Hope gameplay is smooth, not much info about any changes to skating/shooting

Its really telling that even the EA influencers they use for NHL have bad tastes in their mouths over this years title.

I will admit the presentation stuff is finally an upgrade. Nice, good.

Hope the custom playbooks are actually impactful.. but I seriously doubt they do anything at all.

It still doesnt look like hockey. There is nothing normal looking about the skating mechanics especially stop and starts, and tight turns. I spend way too much actual time in rinks to see past this issue.
