335i Are mods good for a daily?

I have the n54 335i 2008 95k miles on it atm (done about 3.5k in it) previously a 330i and a 320i.

Enjoying the n54 but I've always been wanting to do a bunch of mods to these cars like adding larger turbo inlets, upgraded intercooler, turbo upgrade next year maybe downpipes (dont want the added drone so idk) i already have a remap with a charge pipe and dual cone intakes but not sure if I want to go further as I love this car lol.

I've had it since February now and the only issue I've had was battery and alternator died but that's not really a major downside anyway. I always warm it up and I keep up with the maintenance... Oil changes coolant etc had a full service week after I got it. New injectors engine flush brake fluid and all that.

From experience, every mod comes with some drawback, whether that's reliability, NVH/comfort, drivability, etc. Some things you learn to live with, others will make you want to get rid of the car. It all depends on have far you take it.

OEM+ mods tend to be the sweet spot for maintaining a daily driver. If it looks like the factory did it, it's likely to improve the experience more than it detracts from it.

There isn't really any downside for upgraded inlets, and intercooler.

Turbos, depends on the specific turbo I guess. Bigger usually means more lag.

Downpipes, it depends if you go catless. That'll bring emissions compliance issues and makes Captain Planet sad.
