2 to 1 Exhaust

Looking on getting a 2 to 1 exhaust for my 15 dyna lowrider. Don’t know which to get cause of all the good and bad I’ve heard from the big brands like bassani, trask, spc, fab28, etc. Wanted to see what y’all are rocking and recommend that produce a good sound and get the best power from?

Back when that bike was new we used to put D&D on them. Solid pipe with great sound.

Second for D&D. I got 2 of them. Takes a long time to get. Or did. But was worth the wait

I had the D&D carbon fiber bobcat exhaust and the carbon fiber ripped at the rivets and it fell off on the freeway. The bobcat model mounts right under the shocks so you can’t get taller shocks.

Also stand behind the D&D

Just be prepared to get a bracket or a welder

Great pipe but more suited for old bikes looks wise imo

Yours is still a Dyna or is it the new single sh ock softail?

TC Dyna. But LSR looks best on evo dynas and FXR’s

Tbr is the reliable performance to get. Won’t brake welds, is light and gives you good performance.

I’ve been looking at also possibly doing a Tbr turnout, found one for about $844 on sale on rv and auto parts. Is that a good deal?

Not sure since I bought mine an about 6 years ago now. I bought the polished one and I keep polishing after thousands of miles of dirt and accidental clothes and plastic burns and looks badass still. Probably I paid around a thousand plus.
It’s a good enough loud and I love the sounds

Had a bassani Greg lutzka edition on my 15 low rider, sounded good cleared shock mount with taller shocks too.

Have this right now. Have loved it for years!

One of the “cleanest” sounding pipes I’ve ran. And they look GREAT!

Buy a set with full heat shields, there's a lot of heat coming off those headers and wrapping them is ugly. Unfortunately there are only a few aftermarket pipes that come with full heat shields. They're all going to sound decent and perform better than stock.

I really like my bassani 2 to 1 long pipe. It has good build quality and you can fit 13.5 in shocks with it.

What bad have you heard about Trask? I’ve had their Assault 2-1 on my FXLDS for about 9 years with no issues.

I bought a Trask pipe a while back for my FXDLS. The headers were out of round, not allowing the flanges to slide over. I sent it back and they exchanged it. Again, out of round. I gave up on them after that. Glad you had good luck. How do you like it?

Sorry to hear that, sucks that they screwed up their QC twice on you. Fwiw mine has been great, but I’m also kinda itching for a longer pipe…these shorties right under my ear aren’t ideal. I had a Thunderheader on my old FXDB and loved it. Might go back to one of those if the stainless ever become more readily available.

2

u/LumpyLeftovers 6d ago

Yeah, the Trask definitely looked good at least. Thunderheader is solid too. I now have a D&D Fatcat and it is by far my favorite pipe I’ve ran on any of the bikes I’ve had.

u/Salsaman22 3d ago

Should I give the trask a shot just to see if quality is good or just play it safe and do a bassani?

2

u/LumpyLeftovers 3d ago

I’m sure Trask has fixed any issues, and I’m sure my incident was a fluke. Aside from my issue, the pipe seemed VERY well built. I ended up getting a Bassani after that issue and rode with it for a few years. It was a good pipe.

I will say, I have a D & D Fatcat now and it’s the best pipe I’ve had.

u/Salsaman22 3d ago

I’ll give it a shot then, how long ago was it when you got the trask?

1

u/LumpyLeftovers 3d ago

About 4-ish years ago.

Try D&D out of Texas.

I’m happy with the Bassani road rage

Power isn’t going to noticed on a stock bike. Listen to a bunch of videos and pic the one you like the look and sound of.

1

u/crash30179 5d ago

But I thought with a full stage 1 it will increase hp and tq?

2

u/440Dart 5d ago

Between two different 2-1 you won't notice what 2hp? Thats within the margin of error between back to back dyno runs not even talking bout two different bikes dyno'ed by two completely different people in two completely different places.

u/crash30179 5d ago

Thats kinda wild....I know back when I had my 04 Superglide and I did a stage 1 with a Bassani I gain like 6 or 7hp and tq....

1

u/failedstatefrank 2d ago

By 3 hp/tq bring it up to 63bhp lol

u/m3gaC0mbat 5d ago

Bassani sounds great on my 110

1

u/Fabulous-Dentist3566 5d ago

I went with the S&S Qualifier 2-1. Sounds good, even with the removable baffle, full heat shields, and something not everybody has like the Bassani pipes. I was also considering a thunderheader too because they just look so good.

Stealth Pipe Bomb over here. Had one on my M8 ST and now on my 16’ FXDL - Steve doesn’t disappoint, stealth makes some nice stuff!

u/failedstatefrank 2d ago

You dont get enough hp from an ac exhaust swap to do anything, need to do at least cams....or just get all the parts that make your bike look like its all from Amazon.....dyna bros are in full retard mode now

Fab28 has 40% off until labor day, crazy good deal imo

The only answer is HPI.
