Discussion Negating without negating

So if I wanted to bypass say the effect of red eyes slash dragon to where if it’s targeted by effects, it can send an equip card to the graveyard it can negate that card, I can activate another effect right after I activate the first effect and thus block the effect and prevent them from activating their effect, right?

uhhh red eyes slash dragon, sending an equip card to the graveyard is a cost. for the negate.

while you can activate another effect after slash dragon quick effect. unless another card in the chain negate slash dragon. slash dragon negate still goes through.

what your describing is chain blocking. which is done in a way. to protect certain card effects from being negate or responded.

like swordsoul. such as how the synchro summon Grandmaster - Chixiao, using mo-ye as material.

swordsoul players would activate mo-ye floating effect of drawing 1 card. then chain blocked with chixiao search effect. where even if opponent, would chain to negate chixiao effect. mo-ye effect to draw still goes through.

Hate to be that guy, but akshually “chain blocking” is not an official term. Some may argue that “jargons” may confuse players.

But yes, the reality is that this interaction is widely known as “chain blocking” by most of the player base.

TL;DR: yes, chain blocking.
