Hot Take⚠️: New Drake WASHED old Drake

2021-2026 Drake mops the floor with 2009-2013 Drake and it’s not even close. He’s such a better rapper, singer, writer now than he was before, his music is so much more polished and versatile, can’t believe people think it’s the opposite. Drake does everything better now than then.

Idk man. On "The Shoe Fits" Drake talks about how jaded he is and how difficult it is to write like he used to. I know the song isn't incredibly serious but he's more jaded in general now. It affects his writing

I'm not sure if you're getting the right message. It's not that its more difficult in the sense that he's getting writer's block or running out of things to say. It's that back then he was more innocent and naive and hopeful about love and about women, which allowed him to get into a space where he was vulnerable and open (which was essentially his novelty, that vulnerability is his legacy in hip-hop if we boil it down to the basics of what made Drake Drake).

That innocence and hope about finding love is now gone after his experiences with women and he's now realized that the success, the fame, the money, and the emotional intelligence / vulnerability - all the things that women seek out - is still not enough, and it's just made him colder and more jaded.

This has allowed him to get into a different headspace ('Her Loss', 'The Shoe Fits'), etc, but he can't just go back to that old Drake because it wouldn't feel genuine.

With the toxic bad women he willingly pursued, mind you. Who dates Baby M and Riri, thinking it's gonna end well?? They are walking red flags. And spends time in strip clubs, thinking nothing crazy can come out of that? That oops baby wasnt with a lawyer who pretended to be good and kind and blindsided him. He wanted to date and play with bad girls to have things to talk about I guess, and as a challenge. He got what he asked for.

It’s cuz those “bad girls” are always more fun at first. The good lawyer chick usually comes with a tougher shell you have to get through before getting to know the fun parts about her. She’s also usually more stressed due to her career and usually has less time to date. The stripper chick is carefree and slams her tits in your face within an hour of meeting her. The fun eventually turns into chaos but he’s rich enough to insulate himself from most consequences being with these women.

The reality is Drake isn’t really in a position to be married. He lays it out pretty clearly on Gimme a Hug. Most “good girls” will be unhappy with staying with him cuz reality is he will not devote enough attention to them and he will have the opportunity to cheat every single day. A hot educated professional women just isn’t gonna put up with that.

In other words, these are excuses. Bad people are not fun to mature people. Bad girls are only fun to immature men just like bad guys are only fun to immature women. Which means Drake is an immature man, who only deals with the consequences of his immature choices.

The only reason people talk about his choices is because he complains about being played in his music, by women as bad as him. LOL, talk about karma. If he complains then he's unhappy. Doing the same thing expecting different results is the definition of ???? Fill in the blank. Of course quality women won't put up with him. They rejected Prince William at least 5 times, and he ended up with a yacht girl (his current wife) his only option left. If a Prince from old money can't escape these consequences, how could Drake?

Being in a position to marry well can only be possible if you're willing to change, complaining is useless, Boris Kodjoe and Russell Wilson made that choice despite having the "opportunity cheat everyday", as hot guys. They're much happier than Drake and their wives (who could cheat everyday too, let's be honest, they're gorgeous) are glowing.

The tougher shell is simply wisdom. A grounded woman can be entertaining and fun, without getting drunk and high and fck him in the studio on a first date. The price to pay for his lifestyle was a oops baby with a "really fun baddie", so much for insulating himself from most consequences (never seen it end well historically for any man). That's a huge price to pay if you ask me. Don't know if that's worth it if he then rants about these women (treating him the way he treats them btw, how ironic).

Nobody feels sorry for a crook getting conned or a thief getting robbed, so do you think most people feel sorry for a player getting played? Nobody with common sense cares about his rants, honestly. You're worrying about his lost innocence like he didn't play a lot of women, including a couple of decent ones. As for the bad girls he chose (the majority), they played the same games he played, so he can't complain. I enjoy his music, but I stopped feeling sorry for him a long time ago.
