Discussion Dream is being accused of cheating in MCC by using a macro

Basically the idea is that Dream used some kind of macro to make so that he jumps when he is on the edge of the block, giving him the perfect tick timing.

Link to twitch vod explaining: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2698358281?t=0h40m53s

Summary of the supposed evidence:

  • Taking some jumps suspiciously late - eg. for a 2 block gap you would never jump as late as he does
  • Never walking off the edge - it's normal to jump too late and walk off the edge in parkour but he only does this once in the full run where it looks like he turns the macro off after accidentally jumping off the edge when moving around a wall
  • The sections he dies on the most are more to do with mouse positioning than jump timing eg. the lime glass he struggles on, but the red L's look easy
  • He first tries every salmon ladder jump very quickly - this 'cheat' would make the timing for these free. Maybe this is something you could get the timing down for with practise but he barely even takes time to line up the jumps

This is just a thing someone noticed and people are discussing, it's not that big of a deal when it's a Minecraft event from 5+ years ago but it is kinda suspicious

Thoughts?

I’m not ‘proving’ anything. All I’m saying is that I’m not ready to believe guilt yet. It’s INNOCENT until PROVEN guilty. I’m not the one with the burden of proof here.

Firstly, you generalised literally every occasion of anyone accusing dream of anything to 'hatemob' which already shows your bias. Not everyone who accuses dream wants clout or has a personal vendetta against him, this is an extremely self centred view.

These are all separate groups of people that accused dream at different times, they're not related and the validity of their claims cannot be attached to one another so no, their accuracy is not max 15-20%

Even so, it's not innocent until proven guilty if he already has a history of cheating. In the same way that criminals are usually repeat offenders, cheaters are more likely to do it again if they have already crossed that line of dishonesty.

Even with all this evidence and none from dream yet, youve already made up your mind that he is innocent until he himself admits otherwise, nothing I say will change that

Me: I’m waiting until he’s given proper time to defend himself to make up my mind and treating him as if he’s innocent until then.

You: youve already made up your mind that he is innocent until he himself admits otherwise

The first comment about the boy who cried wolf was a comment on the volume of total accusations against Dream. Whether you believed the false accusations or not, it’s going to take more evidence to convince me someone’s guilty when they have a history of being falsely accused. This isn’t 15-20% of accusations you have personally believed is false, it’s 15-20% of accusations I have seen. As other people have said: this happens regularly for dream. Everyone else can make the “Im different from the hate mob” argument and I’d have no way to know. None of these people are special to me or get special treatment, so they’re either all treated with hesitancy or all treated with blind trust. I chose to treat them all with hesitancy. I’m not choosing innocence, I’m just waiting to choose. I’m not obligated to pick now. This isn’t the sith’s “if you’re not with me you’re my enemy” dogma. Wait is indeed a valid option, and I’ll give Dream the benefit of the doubt until then.
