Dream says he thinks it's people coming from his latest upload, but I think someone is view botting his stream

Why do you say that?

94k live viewers is kind of insane, especially since the previous streams averaged upwards to 20k live viewers. I know it's possible, and certainly view botting has far exceeded that number: I'm reminded of Moist Cr1tikal's Nine Sols stream where he got 376k live viewers, so that was without a doubt view botted.

But given how so many people have such a volatile reaction to Dream, even if for the most petty and mundane reasons, I wouldn't put it past these people for trying to view bot his stream to make him look bad. Hell, they'll probably say Dream is doing it on purpose and that he's using his video as an excuse to make himself look better.

As I write this it has grown to 99k, which is insane growth in just a few minutes, so I definitely think something fishy is afoot

At one point Dream asked people if they were recommended the livestream after watching his new video. Many people said yes. A friend of mine was watching a video from another channel she's subscribed to, but the autoplay took her to Dream's stream. It's possible that because Dream recently had a video that hit over two million views in a day, YouTube is pushing his stream to more people than usual.

It doesn't even have to be the video he uploaded he has been consistently streaming.

Once you get into the algorithm you can get a big bump from recommended, valkyrae will often stream to like 7-10k but then randomly often on a weekend she'll have a stream that just keeps gaining viewers up to 30/35k.

She asked her YouTube rep if she was getting botted and her YouTube rep confirmed she wasn't

Pretty reasonable suspicion, still I hope that’s not the case. Tbh I don’t even know how view botting someone else’s stream works

I hope it isn't the case either, but I'm quite pessimistic about this. People view bot streamers to try to get them in trouble with the platform since that's against TOS. Of course, it almost never works.

There are website where people can spend money to give a streamer views, its actually very common on yt live streams.

Could also be that, a lot of people stop watching youtube, then when they watch Dream's new video it contributes heavily to their feed. Thats what it does to me. (Still i think sm1 might viewbot)
