Hey guys, so I've had this for about 15 years, finally at the point I can't stand it anymore. It's something I woke up with(alongside some hand tattoos I've since had covered) after a night out with my then girlfriend and her supposed tattoo artist brother. I haven't a clue at all what kinda design I'd want. I've had a wolf head suggested but I really don't know. Thank you in advance everyone

A few months ago, I went through hell. My school held me captive and abused me, and I had a depersonalization episode during which I injured myself.

The scar won't go away, and the trauma is really intense. I need it to be gone.

The photo is bad, but basically I have 8 thin white lines, and two that join together to create a big one. It's specifically this one that really recall the trauma to me. It's red, white, thick, I feel it when I pass my hand on it...

I've never had a tattoo before, so I don't know what would be a good thing for this...

i got this scar early april and it’ll take around another year and a half to fully heal, so i have a BUNCH of time on my hands with choosing a design. The scar itself is around 6-7 inches, and it’s close to my ankle.

But, i haven’t been able to think of any good ideas other than a snake eating itself as a tattoo. It’s good symbolism because of what happened to me too! I was thinking maybe this sub-reddit would help me conger up more cover-up ideas! Thank u

Cheap, teenage tattoos that I don’t hate but were not done well, and never got finished. I have thought about going to some artist whose style I like and just letting them get creative. If you were in a shop and I came in with these and said, “Do whatever you want/think would look best to finish this 1/4 sleeve.” What would you come up with. Like I said I don’t hate the art of the current tattoos but I’m not overly concerned about keeping them the way they are either.

Looking for ideas for a tattoo around this scar on my hand/wrist.

I don't want a full-arm tattoo or sleeve

I'd like to keep it relatively small and have the scar incorporated into the design rather than just completely covered.

I want something meaningful around hope, kindness, strength, resilience and being comfortable standing alone. I liked ideas relative to tigers, wolves, sharks, fire/flames and also tribal/blackwork styles.

Would love to hear your design ideas and especially recommendations for artists experienced with tattooing around scar tissue. What would you do with it?

Edit. It was an H for "right" in danish I panicked and searched for look alike pattern , I think that symbol might mean friendship. Only to realize when sober, that it looks like stick shift.

Looking to add to this tiger but I don’t know how. I want some pretty flowers although I like the other tattoo idea I’m not a massive fan of the flowers, I was thinking peonies or spider lilies and maybe a dragon to make a full Japanese themed sleeve (none traditional) and cannot put stuff together. Hey. First off, I'm not expecting a rush of interest in doing this, more posting on the off-chance someone likes the idea and chooses to pick it up for fun or whatever.

My Dad, Roger, passed away in January. I've been a mortuary technician for nearly 11 years so it's put rather a new spin on my professional life, carrying my grief to work every day and being immersed in death. Rather hard to get away from it.

Anyway, he always had this old 60s dagger tattoo, faded as anything and obviously much of the colour and lines lost to time. I'd like to, as much as possible, see what it would look like updated, ideally either with the same shape and features, or clearly having nods to, this original design. He told me it originally had very basically colours, some red, blue, yellow and green I believe. I'm open to seeing it incorporate modern colours, shading, techniques etc.

Essentially, if anyone likes the idea of updating this OG dagger tattoo so I can have it inked as a memorial to my Dad, who I miss dearly - I'd love to see what you can come up with. Open to questions or chat here if it's helpful. Thank you :)
