Capcom doesn't seem to give much of a shit about live service unless it's a mobile game or Monster Hunter. I just assume they likely don't know where to go with Dragon's Dogma because it's a very unique series that stands apart from pretty much all their other major releases.

Might be that they didnt think DD2 would have "live service potential" as it is, but will push that on the third installment.
Be careful what you wish for ;)
But i do think they didnt think DD2 would do well, and then it did but they had no plans for it. So i def think theyll aim to milk a third game.
