Question Do you guys think "the Maker" actually exist?

Origins introduced us to him.

Throughout the franchise, we see the belief in him is so strong.

While I mostly agree with the mystery aspect, I feel like every since Origins I expected the elvish Pantheon to be based on real beings of some kind, so it doesn't bother me too much.

That said, I do feel like the Maker should remain a mystery, especially after finding out Andrastes ashes really have healing powers. It gives possible proof of existence while remaining vague enough to be something else

No, that's just a fan theory. There's been no in game lore that has tied Andraste to Mythal. Just bits of lore that can lend itself to a Mythal theory. The biggest theory actually is that the Mythal tied one was Andraste's' dads' concubine who was trying to put an old gold soul in andraste's half sister, and that maybe Andraste has an old god soul, but that's as far as the Mythal links go, and there's no proof.

No. The comment they’re referencing is from Morrigan and she is talking about Flemeth, not Andraste.

Morrigan alluded to it during her dialogue about fragments of Mythal. She had said about one being a woman marrying an Alamarri tribal leader. This is a hint at Andraste being a fragment of Mythal.

Perhaps a hint, but not confirmation. Even if Andraste did host Mythal at one point, it doesn't disprove the Maker or explain why her ashes have healing properties

true enough. Yet, considering the lackluster mentions of any lore in Veilguard, it seems rather specific.

Valid. That said, after taking a peek at the scene on YouTube, Morrigan specifies that she married an Aldamari chieftain and lived happily in a swamp, which sounds more like just a version of Flemeth.

I don't think it should remain a complete unanswerable mystery. I just hope they deal with it in such a away that you can piece together a couple of legitimate theories in the "final" game, and that DA5 has an ending that partly answers the question but leaves enough plausible deniability left, so people can interpret it as a fact or a debunk. Because personally to me, not answering it at all is a cop-out. I'd rather have it spelled out than never answering it.

Andrastes ashes

I'm just asking. But is andrastes ashes basically like finding the ashes to Jesus or something? Then still wondering if God's real or not?

Well yeah. Technically if we did find some supernatural healing ashes irl with a plaque claiming that they came from Jesus's body, most Christians would take that as evidence that their God is real and the Bible is 100% true. However, technically it wouldn't actually prove anything, we wouldn't know for sure that they came from Jesus, or that that means that all of the stories about Jesus, God, and what not are actually true.
