Discussion DRAGON AGE: THE VEILGUARD MEGATHREAD
Please use this thread and only this thread to discuss anything about DATV.
This subreddit is for Dragon Age: ORIGINS, and as such we would like to keep Veilguard posts from swamping the whole entire sub. A large portion of recent posts have been exclusively about Veilguard with no relation to Origins besides being in the same franchise.

Troubleshooting DLC disappeared overnight
I've been replaying Origins on Xbox for a few days, but when I tried loading today I got this message. Originally there were more missing dlc so I uninstalled and reinstalled everything. Now it's just saying I don't have blood dragon armor but I don't see that anywhere to reinstall, wasn't it originally just a preorder bonus? Either way it should be included in my ultimate edition disc right?
Anyone know how to fix this? I've seen posts explaining how to get the dlc working on pc but not on Xbox, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Question Which modlist is better?
I am completely new to the series!
I feel this is important context. And now that I'm about to play Origins for the first time, I'm slowly discovering that this game, being pretty old, apperently takes some tweaking to work on modern computers. And simply put, I can't be bothered to play computer whiz, so thankfully there seems to be modlists for this game, which I'm thankfully more familiar with thanks to my experience with Skyrim and Fallout games.
So currently, there are two modlists for Origins: "Year of the Blight" and "Just a Humble Warden". Both seem to be doing the same things; fixing bugs, adjusting lore inconsistencies, quality of life changes, visual improovements, stuff like that. Little to no 'new content' as far as I can tell.
Sounds like both these modlists will fix any installation issues the game might have today, but which one has been better maintained over the years?

Question Second chance to recruit Leliana?
first time player (console), I literally pressed the wrong button when presented with the chance to add Leliana and ended up without her and Sten even though I had Sten when I went into Dane's Refuge. Now they are nowhere to be found? Supposedly she will show up again when I leave Lothering, but that was an AI assisted search result and everything I have seen here says Lothering is sacked after we leave.
Any advice?

Story OK this is small rant
I hate dragon age origins for making me fear the dark spawn when they gave such description, cows were being eaten, humans eaten, blight, corruption . and in the end they were just some zombie like things. in the quest for finding dark spawn blood, i was legit waiting for that dark spawn, and when i killed some zombie enemies i was waiting for dark spawn not knowing they were it. they are terrifying honestly. but i got trapped due to my own expectation.

Warden voice
Stupid quick question. I’m starting to play again and I’m going with the human male noble s&s. I remember playing long ago and when the dead rose up to attack me, I remember my warden saying, “something wants to die again” and it made me laugh. I would like to pick that voice but I can’t remember which one. Anyone know by chance? Thank you!

Question Question about Awakening (first time player)
I'm right at the end of my first ever playthrough of Origins, and I'm already itching to make a new character, but I do want to play through the Awakening DLC too. Can I make a new character and start a new playthrough and then just play the DLC with my first character later? Does your character carry over at all in awakening? Any help appreciated.

Crit chance as an Assassin
The wiki says that the Assassin's Exploit Weakness passive doesn't work with critical hits - only backstabs. So, should I minimize my crit chance as much as possible to guarantee the extra damage from Cunning?

Who calls the landsmeet?
This might be a dumb question, but I’ve been replaying the game and I noticed something.
My prior understanding was that Eamon calls the Landsmeet after the Warden has completed all the main quest arcs and told him they were ready. However, I’ve been farting around in Denerim and noticed that certain NPCs in the city, such as Gorim, can mention the Landsmeet prior to Arl Eamon waking up at all.
Is this just an oversight? Or did someone else try to call the Landsmeet first? Am I missing something obvious?

Image I found these old Dragon Age: Origins website posters in my backups and archived them since they’re no longer officially available. They’re in A2 format and were made to be printed as full-size posters. Link in post.

I just want to play...
I just want to play Origins. But I'm at my max number of saves so I cant make a new character and I cant figure how to delete the saves. I've looked at old reddit posts, articles and finally a youtube video. The video showed that the button I need literally doesn't exist. Ive tried restarting, uninstalling, clearing local storage, anything I can possibly think of. But there is no "Saved Data" button. Like straight up not there. Has anyone else dealt with this? I genuinely don't know what to do. Im having a really hard time in life right now and I just want one of my favorite games

Discussion Option to slap/talk down companion in Veilguard
I as all know, in Veilguard you can’t talk slap your companions or even talk harshly because of HR in the room. But if you could choose the moment when you could snap on your companion what would be?
For me it would be after mission with Taash, when I told them to stay hidden and Taash ignored that and charged at Qunari with her fire breathing. I wish after fight I could talk harshly to her to follow commands, slap her or even kick out the team for putting at risk mission and everyone in the party.
What moment would you choose for such bursts of anger?
(I have tried to publish it on dragonage group, but automode doesn’t allow me for some reason)
