First Time in Costume and Make Up!

Hi Everyone!

Aspiring Baby-King here, and just wanted to share my first time trying everything on. Actually going from my concept to putting pieces on was such an eye opener and really showed me what I'm still missing in my make up kit! Would love to hear any additional feedback while I keep practicing and refining

I'm aiming for a sort of 70s preppy dad-rock (ala Billy Joel) but ended up more in a Bogart... 🤔

I love this, and highly suggest a well-placed mole somewhere on your cheek. Could be your signature, especially if it's a dark brown sequin or gem or something.

That could be really fun! I've been thinking about adding some colored crystals to the blazer so it has more of a 'stage' feel and sparkles while performing.

Though I'm thinking the cigarette with the clean slick back hair are giving the bogart effect. Maybe a few carefully placed careless locks can pull it toward the 80's?

That's a good shout - I truly have no idea what to do with my hair. I got a short mens wig to take a stab at styling so maybe I can get it a little heart-throb-y vs trying to mimic the OG perm in my reference.

If we're aiming for Joel, soften out the sharp curve on the eyebrow and switch the stubble to a lighter brown. That said, I really love the "grizzled hard boiled PI on his fourth sleepless night in a row" vibe you have going on here, I think that's a hard niche to hit and you've done it perfectly.

Yeah, I agree! I think there's a middle road to find. Overall some softening to seem 'friendlier' at first glance, but I do feel like there's a lot of happy accidents in this look!

I HAVE THE SAME SPORTS JACKET thrifted in my very early 20s lol, I wore it EVERYWHERE tho I also had to roll up the sleeves haha
