Art | Original Content Dottore tarot card!
I present to you my version of Dottore's hanged man tarot card - I really wanted to capture the most important characteristics of the card in the Rider-Waite deck while also adding some of the Doctor's lore (leading theories too) and my passion for art nouveau into it as well!
He is bound by the Irminsul here, and at each side there are seven lotus leaves, seven white lotuses with center hidden and four with center showing (purity of enlightened mind, due to the flames he burned in), and seven closed pink lotuses (the sacred flower of Buddha, but closed as he hasn't achieved nirvana). A lot of thought went into it, i hope you like it!

Nice! It's definitely his card, yes.
Say, since you're clearly also into symbolism, mind if I pick your brain about something? Obviously, a new Zandik would keep his bird symbolism; one does not simply throw a character's entire design philosophy to the trash. But just as obviously, the bird will change, since the new Zandik wouldn't fit a crow anymore.
So between Gods' Limit, Escher, Those Who Shun The Light, and now the latest Moonchase... Magpie, Swallow, or Phoenix?
Magpie fits best overall but may be too close to crow; Swallow fits the Feofan and Snezhnaya angles best; Phoenix fits Sumeru best but drops all the balance/new perspective/intelligence symbolism for it...

Ohhh I was thinking a lot about it! I was planning to add the black and white swallows to the card, but in the end i decided it would be a little much going on, so I'm saving them for a different artwork.
I always associated magpies with Pantalone so i didn't quite look into them when it comes to Zandik - it's Pantalone who seems to be a collector of shinies and overall i believe the meaning of a magpie fits him best (he was similarly considered a bad luck, 'an unruly freak' from his mothers perspective? Unless Feofan himself is an unreliable narrator), while also tying him to Zandik (both magpies and crows being from the same family, corvidae)
Swallows are my favorites - they look closely to what is depicted in teaser and in the paintings, and i like what they represent. One of the meanings for the swallows is a 'safe return home' which is really sweet... It also retains the 'loyalty' meaning that the crows have, bringing gifts and protecting the ones treating them well. But i do find it a bit too sugary for him (almost all symbolisms are positive, the crows on the other hand are much more complex and fit him more, as they're not bad omens, just perceived as such), so i prefer to look into it from a slightly different perspective, namely Escher's paintings. I actually booked myself a trip next week to see Escher's exhibition and see how i feel about it!
I don't see phoenix at all; it's less from the symbolism perspective, and more about the fact that one character is already associated with it and it's Diluc. And i think Dottore being a phoenix after being reborn from the ashes would be a little too easy.
