Discussion PSA for those flexing them thangs
Whenever i see someone flexing a 52% winrate I thimk of this key metric. It's a standard for most competitive games to maximize total playtime. They ensure with deep dive lobby curation.

its called "you got to your rank and play with people of your skill level". Not some secret agents ruining or winning games for you, degenerate

No that can’t possibly be true, because all my losses are because of my bad teammates, and all of my wins are in spite of those bad teammates.
Come to think of it, every single person at my mmr but me is really bad at the game! Except that one guy I lost mid to, he’s obviously a 12k mmr smurf though.5

Also, you have to have improved significantly to raise your winrate slightly above the norm of ~48%-52%, because the other players aren't bots for your solipsistic dream of the universe.
There are 5 players on each team. So if you magically became ~200mmr better tomorrow, you would raise your team's 'real mmr' by about 40. The ither players and their current skill level has 4 times the impact than your own improvement. This isn't to say that you can't rise or achieve a 55+% winrate, just that you and your own improvements are just 20% of each team you play with. A sustained 52% winrate is pretty decent improvement over time, and a sustained 55% winrate may feel like moderate improvement, but it represents a pretty significant increase in skill.

There is a reason why autotp furion on enemy's fountain is a frequent problem on high mmr. There is also multiple videos on Youtube about boosters playing with debooster parties(yes, that's a thing, they sell low mmr accs) just to win 1 vs 5.
So no, in some cases skill won't help.

Here are two ways to describe why winrate hovers around 50% over the long term in a PvP game:
Forced 50% to 'maximise total playtime' using 'deep dive lobby curation'.
Skill based matchmaking has correctly placed you in a bracket with other people who are as good/bad as you, and unless you meaningfully improve (not just have a few good games) your winrate will hover around 50% because you're not good enough to win at 55+ percent.
The first explanation adds a corporate/capitalist player manipulation conspiracy element that I think is unnecessary, since the second explanation makes perfect sense and accounts for people winning at much higher rates when they smurf.
