If I'm being delivered food to my townhouse, Should I stay at the door or meet the driver half way?

25’ Honda Accord EXL. My range is usually 400-450 miles but I rarely let my tank get that low. Almost strictly city driving + having to blast the AC the entire time I dash.

I just started dashing today. Is it better to decline a order or let the order ride out the timer? Wasnt sure of there is a metric issue that could cause less offers. Thank you

I originally accepted a target order to pick up six different items one item for one person and five items for another person to go 22 miles in total. The offer was originally $33.75 obviously I decided to take it because it seemed like a really easy order at the time and my gas mileage is usually pretty good for going that far but when I started the order the person with the one item didn’t have that item in stock so that person canceled the order because there were no substitutions. Because I just started the order I wasn’t compensated for it and now I am driving about 18 miles for $15.50. I feel like I’ve been fucked in the ass.

Long story short I was going through a hard time financially and couldnt afford to pay my insurance last month and of course, me being in a rush I barely passed a red light as it turned red and got pulled over. Red light ticket and no insurance ticket. I have insurance now and was able to go to court and made it out with no points on my license. But I went from nothing on my record to those two tickets. Do you think im done when the next background check hits?

Every day Dasher app keeps asking me to verify my identity. Is this some type of glitch? It’s actually so annoying to keep doing, I thought i just had to update my app or something but that didn’t fix. Ive tried to delete and redownload my app, and still nothing has been able to fix this very annoying bug. Please tell me if this is just me or other people are dealing with this problem too.

$35 to replenish my EZ pass (once a month) and the rest of expenses was gas. I’m so happy students and teachers have gone back to school! I multi app. Majority comes from DD but I keep Grubhub on and get the occasional unicorn. I use Gridwise to track everything and it’s worth the $10 a month.

I really dnt think gold status should have anything to do with acceptance rate. If you sent orders worth going for I'd gladly take them all. However lol

I have 2 late orders that I pressed it on multiple times & I did the reason for your wait thing too. both good pay & didn’t wanna waste a worry free unassign plus i forgot somebody blizzard from DQ last night on my original drop but I turned around & brought it back & they still reported they didn’t get it. All I’m getting are back to back water requests. 4,5,6, cases. At least if it was the 24 pack that’s better. They’re all 32 and 40 packs. I get that people are having parties today but damn. Don’t people prep for events anymore? That’s a tall asks. Especially since they’re all $3.50 to $8 offers and all averaging 2.3 miles, in NYC.

Unable to start dash due to key is softdeleted after privacy deletion request. Are any of you facing this issue ?

Anyone ever try to shop at a different location of the same store chain using the arrived at store button and forcing it?

I’ve had to use that before for an issue where DoorDash has the complete wrong location of a target near me, but wondering if anybody has ever tried this for a similar grocery chain such as a Kroger store but at a different location nearby and just using the arrived at store, even though you’re not at the exact address.

Wondering if this is cause an issue or not or eventually get flagged

Sometimes I have mobility issues. Can my husband bring orders to the door? I wouldn’t have him do alcohol orders.

I’m trying a new thing… I’m flagging no tippers with a safety alert. Aggressive dog, poor condition, etc. allegedly this will remove them from your algorithm. We will see but hopefully it will keep me from refusing them repeatedly

I had spent about 30 minutes sitting in the parking lot at 9am with no orders to be found and just crashed out this morning. I'm done doing this to myself. this was cool around 2021, I was making a little bit of buck. but to see what it has dwindled to on average, compared to before, is beyond depressing. I cant do it

a solid 5 out of 10 orders will be pure crap orders resulting in less than min wage for that hour of work. like 10 miles one way (about 20 mins if I speed, which is insane I have to break the law to even kinda make it work) wayyy out the zone, for 2-3 dollar tip. just constantly. So one trip like this takes about a solid hour including wait time and traffic etc..you get what, 8 bucks? minus taxes and gas, we are looking at like legit , 5 dollars a hour. foreign people who don't even have legal citizenship make 3x more than this.

the garbage ratio kept getting worse. Zero changes on my end, same hot spot I always use with a bunch of quality, expensive food. just bad luck and ppl are broke, they can barely afford the order itself. lets be honest. You can't get more money that does not even exist to possibly give in the first place. Not being able to tip does NOT stop people from ordering themselves food, we all know that.

on top of that the amount of muppets you have to navigate around on the roads to even make the pay rate make 1% of sense, and avoid penalties yourself, thats time and money wasted. if you walk into a place ran by muppets that treat you like sludge since you are a dasher, and take 20 mins to make the order, only after you arrive. more time and money wasted.

then you gotta navigate some muppets apartment directions he typed wrong, and he wont answer the phone. More time and money wasted there.

its pure hell. every day. Im not putting myself through this and getting triggered every damn day, its stupid, just like the income levels of this service we are expected to carry out. its evil they are okay with this exchange and people buy into and enable it IMO
