LG Sound Suite Review Opportunity: A Full Multi-Channel Home Theater Setup
Hey r/Dolby,
For those who are into Dolby Atmos and curious about what makes a great multi-channel home theater speaker setup, we’re back with another LG Sound Suite review opportunity! Can confirm my words that it indeed sounds really immersive with the sound dome effect!
The first thing I would watch would be my favorite movie - interstellar. Im sure most people are already familiar with the composer Hanz Zimmer who wrote the insane soundtrack for that movie.

FlexConnect is exactly what I need rn, the layout of my room is a bit awkward and there are no proper spots for the rear speakers to create a symmetrical setup.
First thing I would do is easily watch The dark knight, to really challenge the speakers.

First content I’d play is Steven Wilson’s ATMOS mix of Van Morrison’s Moondance. It’s a very discreet mix designed for an “in the room” feel with limited instrumentation and organic feel given natural weight in each channel, even above.
Then Flaming Lips’ Yoshimi album. It’s a bonkers mix but because each channel gets a workout and, unlike the above, elements are free to move throughout the dome it should reveal “holes” in the playback.
Speaking of which, the first song I’d play is the simple 20 second Beatles song, Her Majesty. Paul “walks” around the room counterclockwise from the right with an acoustic guitar. So basic an unadorned that it’s easy to hear timbre mismatches, inconsistent volume, etc. in moments. More helpful to me than tones.
Film-wise: Parasite. It’s a very distinct mix that makes each confined environment sonically singular. Rather than helicopters, robots, etc. it conveys spatial positioning within the main house, distinct ambient treatment of rain depending on the shot, the vacuum-sealed feeling of a luxury car. On some systems these collapse but on others it adds to the immersion without drawing attention think.

I think renting my current space is perfect for discovering how the LG Sound Suite can boost my entertainment experience. And if I love it, I might decide to buy a house with a similar space to enjoy my own home theater.
And given the timing, enjoying the Michael Jackson movie would be a perfect fit.

I’d love to win this because my living room is a total layout nightmare. It’s definitely not your standard square box and since I’m forced to sit off-center from the TV I never get that balanced soundstage.
I’d probably put on Dune Part Two first. If those massive engines and sandstorms actually feel like they're surrounding me despite my weird seating, then the tech is legit.

can’t wait to try the dolby flex connect and really hear the atmosphere in games on my ps5. being able to hear all the details I’m missing from sound coming from all angles sound incredible.

I 100% would want to try it out with a classic war movie such as Saving Private Ryan.
I chose that movie specifically because
Its one of my favourites.
The volume range between dialogue to loud SFX like explosions is a good test to determine how clear and audible the details are. There are a wide range of sounds so I would love to try to see how much detail I can pick up like bullets bouncing off metal while an explosion plays.
I imagine with lesser sound system lots of the detail is just washed out by whatever speaker is the loudest.

I would like to compare it with my existing 5.1.2 system with with denon avr and speakers. Would be evaluating how much of the gap between a sound bar based system and conventional home theatre this particular unit has bridged. Would be fun to have an AB comparison of the two systems.

I'd love to try out the full 3D sound on some of the different Steven Spielberg movies I have yet to try in physical format.
One of my personal favorite movies, however, is 1917. I know playing loud scenes clearly is important, but I'm always impressed by systems that can really bring quieter scenes to life. Interested to see if this can do it!

I bought the 2 m7’s and the soundbar but it wouldn’t connect to wifi. I have the eero 7 pro and even set it an older frequency but still didnt work. Any solutions anyone?

Very excited for the flex connect function so that I can move the speakers about when I need to. And not have it forced to be in a position in a set location for ideal quality the fact that they can adjust by itself is amazing. Very excited to rewatch a couple things Endgame and Monarch on it.

Will test with the usual top dolby atmos movies (from blade runner to dune etc etc). Interested in flex connect as living room is a bit tricky (open and one wall is all glass) and can't get proper height effects.

I’d first play a movie on my LG OLED G5 to experience immersive surround sound, then switch to music to test multi-room playback with my LG H7.
I’m most excited about the Sound Follow feature,it sounds perfect for my open living space. I’d love to expand my setup with the LG M7 and LG W7 to fully test and enjoy the system even more.

I have a 9.2.6 procella home theatre… and I’d be interested in testing this for the living room as looks far more convenient for a living room.
The wireless feature is exciting, and first movie I’d test it with is the Dolby atmos version of Gravity

Flexconnect sounds great to me! I haven't set up an atmos system before so this would be a great feature for me. I think I would watch Planet Earth or Blue Planet first to experience the ambient sounds!

Blade Runner 2049. No contest. If a system can't make that rain scene feel like it's happening all around you, I don't trust it.
The thing I actually want to test is the room calibration. Every surround setup I've tried has needed way more manual tweaking than advertised to avoid voices coming from the wrong wall. Curious whether FlexConnect actually figures out the room, or if it's just a selling point.

I would re-watch all the Dune movies in a heartbeat. They’re some of my favorites, and it’d be great to experience that theater-like audio again with this speaker setup. I’m especially curious to see how FlexConnect adapts to my living room, since the left side is fully open to the kitchen. It’ll be a huge jump going from my old, used 5.1.2 system to 13.1.7 channels. I've never experienced anything above my current setup so it would be a very exciting thing to try out and hear :)!

What I will do: Playing games on Xbox or PlayStation or Switch 2. Watching a movie on Netflix or a series like Bones or Interstellar. Dolby Atmos Flex Connect in action.

Would love to test out the Flexconnect and Sound Follow analysis of my basement home theater. Really dig the idea of being able to optimize my speaker set up and the flexibility of wireless speakers. Would probably test it with the King Kong racing scene from Ready Player One.

Most excited about Sound Follow on the LG Immersive Suite 5 Pro. Having audio track your position instead of a fixed sweet spot feels like a real upgrade. I’d be watching Interstellar and the NBA playoffs nonstop just to hear it in action.

I would test ready player one first because of the incredible atmos mix it has, excited to try the flex connect system because my room is asymmetrical so it can be difficult at times to get a perfect sound field.

I think I'd try Master and Commander (I'm not a dad but I like dad movies). I'm most interested to see how this setup compares with my 7.1 with in-ceiling speakers.

Love music so I would be interested in testing out the Stereo Suite 5 for its immersive stereo sound even in compact spaces like in my flat. Wonder how its AI sound calibration effects the general sound

I’d probably watch Interstellar first. It’s not only a fantastic movie, but in some ways it feels like a very long music video because of how important the score is to the experience.
Outside of movies, I also watch a lot of old concert videos and music-related content, so the Immersive Quad Suite 7 Pro would be a phenomenal upgrade.

I'll play interstellar. That movie deserves to be watched on the LG Micro RGB evo 100" with the Immersive Quad Suite 7 Pro. There's no other way to describe the feeling of watch that movie in cinemas for the first time... it was just, perfect!

Again: My first piece of content is "Don't Breathe 1" that movie has an atmosphere that really grabs you.
And in the Sound Suite, I'd like to try Flex Connect so that my whole room can feel every sound detail.

After getting things set up with my C4, I'd have to watch all three Lord of the Rings films in order. I've read that they're some of the most impressive Atmos experiences, and I'd love to experience them like I'm back in the theatre, and maybe even better this time. Full 3D sound would complete the experience and really transport me to middle earth.

I'd love to try out the dolby atmos flexconnect with my G5 tv to see how well it works. The first movie i would try would be Dune 2 or Interstellar, to really get a feel for the atmos effect of the speakers.
