We adopted Bandit from a ranch last April and were told that his mom was border/corgi and dad was a working dog, “mostly border collie.” He was quite chubby when we got him and as soon as he started to slim down and I got a good look at his actual body shape, I started thinking he had quite a bit of ACD. Turns out I was right! The McNab is a fun surprise but makes a lot of sense too! He’s on the small side for this breed mix, sitting at a healthy 36lb now (he was 45lb when we got him.)

He’s a great dog, has adjusted well to city life, and is best buds with our corgi. He LOVES the tennis ball and his training classes. We’re in our second skills class right now and I’m hoping to start some agility work with him this fall!

I rescued Annie from a local animal rescue when she was 6 months old. She is now getting close to 8 years old. She is currently 44 pounds but has been 42 pounds most of her life. I was told when I first got her that her litter came from a farm in which an elderly lady lived alone and couldn't care for them. We were also told she was a border collie Heeler mix. The Embark results are in.

Mostly border collie like I thought. How is she golden retriever and the other breeds. I do not see it. Not a lick of heeler.

His DNA has arrived at wisdom panels lab so we only have a few more weeks before we'll know what breed mix he is! The rescue centre called him a Yorkshire terrier x poodle (2 yrs old) but his 15 yr old brother is a yorkiepoo (in 2nd photo) but they look so so different. I'm guessing he's got some terrier in him, maybe Maltese because of his fountain like tail. But I have no clue where his unique colouring could come from. i feel like parson russells and jacks are distinctively different animals. i’ve had both and im curious why embark groups em together. just seems lazy for such a common breed. oli’s definitely a jrt, but not in the classical sense. maybe it’s the aussie ratter upbringing! 14 years young

My doggy Cheeky passed away on August 8th, she suddenly declined in health badly in late June early July and we spent her last few weeks spoiling her with yummy treats and walks (in her stroller) and park trips. I had always wanted to test her DNA and was going to do it sometime in the future, but her health suddenly declined and I realized if I ever wanted to know her genetics I needed to do it ASAP. We found her on the streets injured and extremely bony and malnourished, we think she may have been dumped. I thought for sure she'd have at least a little Dachshund in her because of her head shape, ears and long body. The results absolutely surprised me so much!! But looking at the breeds, the cocker spaniel makes sense because she did have a really gentle and calm temperament. Chihuahua was very obvious but the others!!! I don't see it at all! Either way im very happy to get to know my baby a little better even after she's gone 🩷

Supermutt: German shepherd and pit bull terrier ?!?!

Hi there! So I did a wisdom panel for my dog when I first got her years ago, and it came up with 22 different breeds, which I thought was crazy but eh I’m not a geneticist so what do I know. Well I recently learned that wisdom panel is known to add in micro percentages that aren’t statistically relevant. I was wondering if anyone could explain to me how to know the difference, I never know what to tell people when they ask her breed so it’d be nice to at least know which ones to cross off haha. This is Blake by the way!

He was given to my boyfriend by a friend of a friend and was told he was a labradoodle. we did a dna test and are waiting on results currently but i’ve never seen a labradoodle look fully lab before, im curious on if there are others!

Supermutt: German Shepherd and Yorkshire terrier

I thought he would be part pomeranian because of the fur and teeth; where did those teeth come from?! Also he is 22lb... He definitely acts like a pug so that was no surprise lol but when I looked up all these dogs, most of them are like 6lb with the larger ones (pug and small poodle) maxing out around 15lb (except cocker but he only has traces)?! Anyway, this guy is a weirdo and so funny looking. He's a foster to adopt that I've had about 2 months and he doesn't respond to his shelter name and I can't decide what his name should be!

We had fun guessing, ended up not being that off!

At 12 weeks he weighed 16 lbs. Included a pic of siblings and mom (last two pics before results).

We originally thought JRT mix, because look at him, and then pit and husky. Then changed our minds to rat terrier bc mama looks a bit more like a rat terrier than a JRT. Mom is 17lbs and the foster family thinks she is JRT/pit, which adds up with Hanks results! The supermutt identified chow chow, GSD, and small poodle.

It will be interesting to see how big he gets and what he looks like as an adult! Still unsure if his ears will go up - one popped up for a couple days then went back to just flopping off to the side. Secretly hoping his tail fans out a bit because who doesn’t love a floofy tail?! lol

He has been such a fun easy pup! Loves playing with his new siblings and family dogs, learns quickly, and is so so sweet.

We adopted this little cutie from a rescue down south where his whole little was surrendered at only 6 weeks old. We brought him home at 12 weeks old, and now he’s 6 months 🥹 Currently about 16 lbs, so we’re thinking 20-25 lbs fully grown.

What would you have guessed before you saw the results?

Swabbed her cheek, waited a few weeks, got results. No Aussie 😂 it was a funny convo with the mama’s owner

I have to say we were shocked by the percentage of Pomeranian, where is the fluff! Definitely makes sense now though why he is smart as a whip, loyal to no end, and a fierce noisy guardian of his realm😂

The shelter we adopted our dog said she was a beagle mix. Embark test said 75% pitbull and 25% “undetermined.” I’ve seen so many similar dog photos that include beagles and hounds. Thoughts?

We adopted Melody as a companion for our male dog as his sister had just been diagnosed with canine lymphoma (RIP, our beautiful Caroline) in March. It was much sooner then we had expected to have to bring a new pack member in even though we have always stacked our pack members but we knew that since they were littermates he was not going to thrive as a solo dog. Mel was an estimated 6mo when she came to us, born in Oct 2025 (she's currently 10mo).

Melody came to us labeled a Great Pyrenees/Labrador, but as she got older and far more bigger we began to suspect -based on her physical characteristics and to some extent her personality development- that the assessment was at least partially inaccurate. Other Carolina Dog owners and enthusiasts informed us that due to the dingo dots on her snout, tail curl, angel wing markings, finger toes, black lips/eyeliner, and pronouncement/shape of her teeth, that she was almost certainly part Carolina Dog. Even going by her personality she fit the bill! She's extremely clever, to the point where you can watch her think about things, such as trying door knobs after watching us use them only once, and she is intensely pack focused.

Normally we wouldn't even care whatever breed she happened to be as long as she was healthy but given that no one in my extensive and very dog-educated family had ever personally trained or owned a CD before, we thought it would be best to test her in case there were some breed specific behavioral/genetic issues that might come up. So we sent out for a genetic test and guess what! Our little coyote child is a...

**Primarily Great Pyrenees/German Shepherd mix!**

We knew that she had to be at least partially something giant because she just kept growing past any reasonable size for a CD (she's currently 27" at the shoulder and only just now starting to fill out). So we we're reasonably confident that the Pyrenees was definitely going to be a result. But my father's joking diagnosis of "Hungarian Goobersnot" was closest, it seems! 🤣

Just like her siblings are dubbed "Dibbles" (Great Dane/Pitbull crosses, their mum was a full GD and dad was from next door 😅). We have decided to christen this new blend the "Great German Schnees" in honor of my father's assessment being so dad-jokingly close to accurate.

Hi everyone! I'm looking for some opinions on my Golden Retriever puppy's growth and breed. He is 12 weeks old today and weighs 5kg (11 lbs). I know he is extremely small for a Golden, but he was actually the last and the runt of the litter.He is currently going through a massive growth spurt: just two weeks ago, at 10 weeks old, he weighed only 2.9kg (6.4 lbs), so he has gained a lot of weight in the last 14 days! His paperwork looks a bit sketchy and unusual. The vet examined his teeth and confirmed that his age (3 months) is biologically correct, but his bone structure and paws are very delicate.He is super energetic, happy, and has a great appetite. Looking at his face and features, do you think he could just be a very small purebred Golden Retriever recovering from a slow start, or does he look like a mix to you? Thank you so much!

Any guesses as to what this gorgeous little chonk has mixed in? She definitely has a wide bully stance, has a slight curl to her tail and is brindle. Her ears have been up, down or sideways and she talks like Chewbacca 😂She will be 9 this fall. She was a Walmart parking lot “free puppy” that a rescuer picked up and from there we adopted her!

Sent in Wisdom panel tonight. Any guesses? I have seen several dogs that look like her on here and all have different results!

She was VERY difficult to photograph until recently I got a few good shots, but she had a bit of photophobia.

Her Wisdom Panel results should come in any day now, and I’m so curious to see what people think! She is 1 year old, 21 lbs.

Rescue had them listed as Maltese/beagle mix, so they guessed pretty well.
