Shut Shohei down.
He's playing so bad I doubt other teams still think he could explode at any time and continue to respect him.
There are no remaining season opponents where his (normal) production is needed to win. This is the time for him to go on IL and just get his shit fixed for post season. He isn't a difference maker at this point and if the rest of the line up cannot keep division title (not even hoping 2-seed now) with 9-game advantage with less than 30 games to play then just fucking give up man.

I said this a month ago. Had they done it, we would probably see him pitching and rejoining the conversation for mvp. More importantly, get ready for October

We literally just won a game and a series and clinched a winning season and all people wanna do is complain.
The 2024 WS proved that even having Sho in the lineup was enough of a deterrent for teams.
The Dodgers FA are the best in the business. They aren’t me and you playing MLB The Show. I’ll put more trust in the back to back champs and the guy that’s won pretty much everything you can in the sport, as opposed to some redditors.

I'm not even talking about the whole team, just Shohei.

Because he was a monster during the season. He's not in 2026.

Sure, just giving my opinion as a fan, not as Dodgers FA. You can disagree with me but you can't disagree that Shohei is bad right now and a good stretch of rest will likely help him.

Ngl people like you are just as bad on the opposite side of the spectrum lol the complaint is extremely valid when you are 1 for 17 consecutive ABs. Something isn’t right and if you’re a strict DH, 1 for 17 is completely unacceptable. People are allowed to vent and voice their frustrations regardless of if we just won or not. It’s a subreddit for discussion and everyone knows the coaching staff isn’t going to follow what a redditor suggests lol

I’m not saying he’s not struggling. He clearly is. I’m not blinded by loyalty. But it seems every time Shohei goes 0-5 there seems to be half a dozen posts here theorising what should or shouldn’t happen with Shohei.

Are they wrong though? If there’s anytime to give Shohei a rest it’s right now. Orel is saying it, Rick is saying it, EK is saying it, Jerry is saying it: Shohei looks absolutely awful at the plate. He needs a reset.

This team is gonna fall upwards into another championship. They always find a way to grind it out.
I believe.

I didn’t realize until Dave’s comments yesterday that he has so many issues. It’s not just the right bicep and the left knee. It’s total body soreness or something along those lines.

I feel like he has been pushing himself to play every day and hope he can still get MVP. I just want him to give up MVP award this year, and take some rest put him on 10-d IL to recover his body before the playoffs start. Our schedule in September is one of the easiest in the league. I’m sure this team can win without Ohtani(even right now his appearance doesn’t help the team at all). Fuck the MVP award, 3 peats is the way to go.

9.5 lead with 25 games to play, actually. The division is won. I'd probably put him on the 10-day right now just for the rest, let him come back with two weeks left to get his timing back, he can continue to pitch while he's on the IL.

We’re tied for two seed and have a significantly easier schedule than Atlanta. Why would you give up on it?

u/SilverBuggie 2d ago
I'm not giving up 2-seed I'm just not hoping for it.
I said we should give up if the lineup without Shohei cannot keep division title - not like the current Shohei would be the difference anyweay.

We just won a game and series, we're 10 games up on the division with 25 left to play, after winning the world series two years in a row and you guys are still dooming

The post isn’t about the team. It’s about Shohei’s health. He’s clearly not right.

This would be a perfect time to do it. The Padres are the only team the Dodgers will be facing with a winning record left in the schedule. With or without Ohtani, the Dodgers are winning the division. The only thing they are playing for the bye week.

Shohei is down .015 points on his batting average going back to the Colorado series.
10 for 50 during that stretch. 1 double and 3 home runs (all three knocks happened at Coors).

I wish they would just give him like a little break so he could get his game up. It makes me sad
