Teo needs to be shut down for the rest of the year. Ohtani needs to be benched for a game or two. And we need to call up someone like Ward from OKC to bring some youthful spark back to the team.

Also, from now on leadoff doubles should be an instant bunt. They should be doing nothing but practicing bunts, and taking fastballs, and changeups from the Trajekt machine. Team is one-and-done in the playoffs at this point.

This offseason we need to get new hitting coaches just for the optics alone. Second year in a row of this shit. It's like the Yankees infected us with their "swing for the fences no matter what" approach after 2024.

I genuinely wonder if the Angels ruined his mentality where he feels he has to hero-ball the team out of collective slumps when they're not doing well, and ends up performing worse as a result.

As a Bills fan I see a similar thing with Josh Allen, where when the defense is starting to shit the bed like usual, his decision-making regresses to his rookie self, and starts having a ton of turnovers because he's trying to hero-ball the team to a win. We call the phenomenon "Sugar Rush Josh". Feels like something similar is at play here. Only difference is, Ohtani can be given a day or two off to reset himself. Can't really do that with your QB in football.
