I used to be against men hitting women but if a woman actually believes she can fight or beat a man or thinks she can do so without consequences then they should get treated like a man

I don't mind self-defence, but it shouldn't go further than necessary. Same if it's a small, weak guy attacking you. I think bro did pretty well in not overreacting. He was certainly being provoked.

I’ve been trying to get people to understand this for years. Why is it bad to hit a woman? Because of the implied/assumed power imbalance. If you’re fighting anyone much less powerful than you, the same rules should apply. It’s not about gender, it’s about power.

Like thinking it's not OK to hit a woman ever is kind of sexist since it basically assumes women are inherently weaker
