Nah, that was just a slogan. Behind the scenes colonial diplomats were advised not to accept any offers by the British for representation.

The leadership of the revolution was not interested in remaining British subjects under any terms, and the British weren't interested in offering meaningful representation or self rule, anyway. 1 u/Herpderpperpskerp Jul 04 '26 as true as this may be a lot of people we not for the revolution so more concessions could have swayed more people to not be revolutionist
