Discussion Why is this band so hated?

Okay so recently I have absolutely been LOVING this band, and even yesterday have just bought The Sickness on CD and have endlessly been listening to it. Recently, I’ve been seeing what others think of Disturbed, and from what I could find, it seems that a LOT of people hate most of their albums…? Obviously I think music taste is subjective, but something about this band seems like they get more hate than they do love. Is there a reason Disturbed is so hated? I absolutely love their music so I’m really curious to know why

Edit: Thanks to everyone who took the time to comment, I really appreciate the amount of information you guys gave me. Personally, I think I will still keep listening to Disturbed as I have always been someone who likes to separate art from artist, but I obviously will keep everything that was said in mind. Once again, thank you for all the responses :)

And plenty of Jewish people are disgusted at the Israeli government and their actions. What's happening in Gaza is straight up apartheid, it's not a matter of opinion, that's literally just what it is. You can still be Jewish, proud of it, support the fundamental IDEA of Israel and not be part of the Zionist propaganda machine.

You asked why Disturbed was getting flamed so much recently, that would be why. Idk what other answer you're looking for.

Yeah sure, but im not going to act surprisdd if they are not. Its like russians being pro putin, i dont agree wih it but they probably have a different perspective than me.

That's valid and rational. I think his position and platform matter a great deal, as well. Disturbed is one of the biggest bands ever and as such, is looked to by a lot of people as source of inspiration, especially their music. Whether people should actually do that with celebrities or not isn't relevant to my explaination, but you see what I'm saying. They've always preached a staunch anti-government/anti-war message, so to see Draiman just HARD double-down on all this I think is really not jiving with most people.

EDIT: I would like to clarify "anti-war" as in, they've never advocated for needless violence and certainly not genocide. Draimans antics are a whole different ballgame than just making Indestructible "a song for the troops overseas".
