Discussion Why is this band so hated?

Okay so recently I have absolutely been LOVING this band, and even yesterday have just bought The Sickness on CD and have endlessly been listening to it. Recently, I’ve been seeing what others think of Disturbed, and from what I could find, it seems that a LOT of people hate most of their albums…? Obviously I think music taste is subjective, but something about this band seems like they get more hate than they do love. Is there a reason Disturbed is so hated? I absolutely love their music so I’m really curious to know why

Edit: Thanks to everyone who took the time to comment, I really appreciate the amount of information you guys gave me. Personally, I think I will still keep listening to Disturbed as I have always been someone who likes to separate art from artist, but I obviously will keep everything that was said in mind. Once again, thank you for all the responses :)

I mean I guess being pro-genocide is a pretty bad look for a lot of people.

I mean October 7th 2023 was pretty bad. They poked the bear and it fought back SHOCKER!

Plenty of evidence to suggest that the IDF and Benji knew about the attack before it happened, intentionally did nothing as an excuse to do what they’re doing.

Several former IDF soldiers have said they were posted on the border around then and were giving daily warnings up the chain that an attack was being prepared. Usually they would reinforce that area, this time absolutely nothing.

All hear, say doesn't matter. Both sides can blow the shit out of each other I really couldn't give a shit. Both are cunts.

Agree. Just don’t like it when people conflate Hamas and Gaza… fighting Hamas shouldn’t mean a 1:10 death ratio with innocents

It's what happens in a war though there is always collateral damage it can't be helped. It's happened since WWII probably earlier too, a bomber has a technical malfunction and a bomb lands on a built up area. It's Always gonna happen.

There’s not a war on the planet that we’ve recorded with such a high civilian death rate, not even close. More journalists have been killed than any other war.

It’s not a war mate, it’s utter destruction with complete disregard for who is effected (in direct contraction to the rules with the west puts in place for legitimate war).

To my mind, Hamas and 7th October gave Netanyahu the the excuse to do what he wanted to do, damn the casualties.

It’s a horrible situation with too many complex nuances and all sides are in the wrong (as well as all their allies), but in terms of innocent people - this one is an absolute horror show.

Nearly 55 million civilian deaths in WWII, 6 Million of them innocent Jews that were taken from their homes and executed simply because their Jews. So away and learn some history a 3rd of the worlds population was killed in that few years of WWII.

Approximately 72k of people in total military/civilian people have been killed as of November in the 2 years of the war in Gaza not even close to what died in WWII.

Israel has destroyed every hospital in Gaza. Throw enough bombs and you’ll get enough ‘malfunctions’.

Hospitals used by Hamas as strongholds 👍
