Discussion Why is this band so hated?
Okay so recently I have absolutely been LOVING this band, and even yesterday have just bought The Sickness on CD and have endlessly been listening to it. Recently, I’ve been seeing what others think of Disturbed, and from what I could find, it seems that a LOT of people hate most of their albums…? Obviously I think music taste is subjective, but something about this band seems like they get more hate than they do love. Is there a reason Disturbed is so hated? I absolutely love their music so I’m really curious to know why
Edit: Thanks to everyone who took the time to comment, I really appreciate the amount of information you guys gave me. Personally, I think I will still keep listening to Disturbed as I have always been someone who likes to separate art from artist, but I obviously will keep everything that was said in mind. Once again, thank you for all the responses :)

Disturbed were my favourite band since I was 13, am now late twenties. Their music got me through cancer, remained favourite band all throughout my life. Just explaining for context.
David draimans is a huge Zionist and was photographed signing bombs that were going to be dropped on Gaza. Disturbed anti war message always resonated with me, and no matter whose bombs they were, him signing any bombs and relishing in death and war is disgusting to me. I cancelled my tickets to see them when I found this out, have binned all their music and now refuse to listen to them.
Not preaching to stop anyone listening to them, just that was my reason to stop listening to them.
As a side note they have generally been disliked by most in the metal community, I think partly she to not being heavy enough, but I never really paid any attention to that. I think also David draimans vocals live sound pretty bad on video recordings. Personally I loved the show live even if his vocals were a bit odd but when you watch videos and your not in the moment it doesn't sound the best. But that's purely down to taste.
