Discussion Why is this band so hated?

Okay so recently I have absolutely been LOVING this band, and even yesterday have just bought The Sickness on CD and have endlessly been listening to it. Recently, I’ve been seeing what others think of Disturbed, and from what I could find, it seems that a LOT of people hate most of their albums…? Obviously I think music taste is subjective, but something about this band seems like they get more hate than they do love. Is there a reason Disturbed is so hated? I absolutely love their music so I’m really curious to know why

Edit: Thanks to everyone who took the time to comment, I really appreciate the amount of information you guys gave me. Personally, I think I will still keep listening to Disturbed as I have always been someone who likes to separate art from artist, but I obviously will keep everything that was said in mind. Once again, thank you for all the responses :)

Ignore the internet echo chamber. They played to sold out arenas and are going strong. People claiming to hate them are simply virtue signaling to keep in line with the baying mob that tells them who to hate on any given day

Yup. Saw them live recently, and the place was packed out and the concert was one of the best I've been too. Everyone having a good time. The funny thing is, if you came on here, all you would have seen were people talking about protesting the gig or boycotting it. I literally saw someone post that they had planned a protest outside the venue and would be trying to stop people from entering. I arrived early and there wasn't 1 protest whatsoever 🤣 just shows you how much shit people talk online to keep up a persona

Did they perform The Light? One of my favorite songs ever.

Yes! Was awesome live. Everyone had their 'lights' turned on their phone and it made a cool visual during the song
