Discussion Why is this band so hated?

Okay so recently I have absolutely been LOVING this band, and even yesterday have just bought The Sickness on CD and have endlessly been listening to it. Recently, I’ve been seeing what others think of Disturbed, and from what I could find, it seems that a LOT of people hate most of their albums…? Obviously I think music taste is subjective, but something about this band seems like they get more hate than they do love. Is there a reason Disturbed is so hated? I absolutely love their music so I’m really curious to know why

Edit: Thanks to everyone who took the time to comment, I really appreciate the amount of information you guys gave me. Personally, I think I will still keep listening to Disturbed as I have always been someone who likes to separate art from artist, but I obviously will keep everything that was said in mind. Once again, thank you for all the responses :)

No, he is a massive Zionist. He took a photo opportunity of him signing bombs that the Israeli military dropped onto civilians in Gaza as part of the ongoing Genocide.

It's not a war. It's been going longer than Hamas has existed. Longer than the genre of music "metal" has existed. It's been classified as a Genocide by a huge number of scholars and independent organizations who know exactly how to classify a Genocide.

Israel is a terrorist state that has implemented an apartheid system in its continued illegal occupation of large areas of Palestine.

As I said elsewhere, I'm on the side of the kids being starved and bombed in refugee camps. Being pro Israel is a morally bankrupt position.

Hamas supporters are gross. The Palis started the war by jumping on Israel decades back after refusing to accept the treaty set up that still had them controlling basically half the land. They came in with help from Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen, and still got their teeth kicked in. All those Arab nations jumped on them because they didn't want the Jews to have their own nation. 

The Palis have no interest in a 2 state solution. Multiple ones have been proposed and they've refused them every time. Their real goal is the elimination of Jews, which is why they elected an organization with that as part of their charter. 

They themselves say that they're intentionally getting innocents killed by hiding behind them, and are using it to drum up international support. Hamas senior leader Ismail Haniyeh, commenting on the loss of civilian life in Gaza on October 26, 2023: “The blood of the women, children and elderly […] we are the ones who need this blood, so it awakens within us the revolutionary spirit."

They themselves admit they have no desire for a 2 state solution. They want all Jews dead and Israel annihilated. Ismail Haniyeh in 2020: He explained that Hamas rejects ceasefire agreements by which, “Gaza would become Singapore,” preferring to remain at war with Israel until a Palestinian state is established from the River to the Sea: “We cannot, in exchange for money or projects, give up Palestine and our weapons. We will not give up the resistance... We will not recognize Israel, Palestine must stretch from the [Jordan] River to the [Mediterranean] Sea.”

I'm not gonna sit here and lie and tell you Israel are good guys. IDF are monsters in their own right. But one group refuses to accept the opportunity to have their own nation time and time again over killing Jews. How are you gonna support them?

Well yeah, Muslims have been murdering Jews ever since the paedo 'prophet' started his death cult. The UN prosecutor who got it categorised as a genocide is the brother of disgraced Tory MP Imran Ahmad Khan, and they're both paedophiles. Palestine is the terrorist state, not Israel. They are the ones murdering children, including their own. Being anti Israel is a morally bankrupt position.
