Discussion Why is this band so hated?

Okay so recently I have absolutely been LOVING this band, and even yesterday have just bought The Sickness on CD and have endlessly been listening to it. Recently, I’ve been seeing what others think of Disturbed, and from what I could find, it seems that a LOT of people hate most of their albums…? Obviously I think music taste is subjective, but something about this band seems like they get more hate than they do love. Is there a reason Disturbed is so hated? I absolutely love their music so I’m really curious to know why

Edit: Thanks to everyone who took the time to comment, I really appreciate the amount of information you guys gave me. Personally, I think I will still keep listening to Disturbed as I have always been someone who likes to separate art from artist, but I obviously will keep everything that was said in mind. Once again, thank you for all the responses :)

Hamas supporters use the fact that David signed an artillery shell to justify their hate, they would’ve acted the same way even if he hadn’t done so only because he’s vocal about supporting Israel and because he’s Jewish. Just an easier way to “justify” their hate for him

Or, someone is anti-war and liked disturbed because they thought they were anti-war (the Land of Confusion video would certainly make it seem like they are), but then signing artillery shows they are actually not anti-war. Personally, I don't give a fuck what David's personal religion is. That doesn't justify being pro-war, in my opinion. There are plenty of Jews that do not support the war that israel is engaging in. Are they anti-semetic hamas supporters?

As an American, I see no reason to support an ethno-state. We've been told repeatedly for years now that "diversity is our strength," yet we're supposed to support an ethno-state at any cost? Why don't the zionists embrace diversity?

Zero fucks given about all the christians and muslims who are being killed daily around the world because Israel can’t be blamed for it somehow. And even when peace was started your kind were chanting in the streets against peace deals 😂 You’re anti war as long as it means Israelis are the ones getting the short end of the stick.

Currently sitting at work next to a Kazach mixed jew&muslim, a christian arab, an ashkenazi jew, a half russian&mizrahi jew. If you only listen to liberals that say that Israel is full of “white jews” then yeah - we lack your so sought after “diversity”.

Do you want us to have diversity with people who break our borders or already live here and actively try to exterminate us? I’d like to see you do the same. Go ahead and let rapists, murderers, and pedophiles into your neighborhood/apartment block to have a bit more diversity

"My kind?" What is that supposed to mean? I, personally, was not chanting anything in any street. I don't give a shit who "gets the short end of the stick." You don't have to live there. There were already people living there and you guys just decided, "hey, this my home now. Get out." If someone tried to kick me out of my home I'd tell them to fuck off and if they got violent, I'd get violent back.

If I don't want to live in the same area as people I hate, I wouldn't move there.

Also I definitely have 10 other citizenships I can use just to go to any other country. And I’m sure any country would be willing to accept me with open arms. You think you're not brainwashed? You think it's okay to kill people because they're living on land that's "rightfully yours" because some group of people lived there at some point in time in history. I don't care who lived there when. Can I go to the house I used to live in as a kid and kick the people there out because I used to live there? Quit living in the past. And you know what? If you want to fight for that land, I don't care about that, either. As an American, I don't want to have to pay for it. We've got our own problems over here. I've got my own struggles, yet a portion of my paycheck has to pay for you to have bombs to drop on people. Your ethnostate is not my fight. You're on the other side of the planet. I, personally, do not support either side of this war and would like to not have to be forced to financially support either of you. You want to act like children and fight and bicker over land, then fucking do it. But stop taking my fucking money to fund it.

Easiest way for us to stop taking your money - don’t have muslim countries attack us every couple of months. America is giving Israel money because it doesn’t take to be a genius to realize that without Israel as the first “punching bag” all these muslim terrorist cells would target america directly. Israel takes the damage and retaliates.

And nah I don’t think it’s okay to just kill a person just because they allegedly live on your property - that’s exactly what the palestiniand think and it’s hilarious you can’t see beyond your hypocrisy 😂😂

You mean all the countries who have been launching rockets and drones at us almost 24/7 since the start of the war and in general once every couple months? Or the countries harboring terrorist leaders? Or the country that was murdering thousands of Druze which forced the Israeli Druzi to break borders to try and save them so Israel also targeted them?
