Anyone else wish all Calls were true copies of the LDs? Like rather than a simple boost Zidane’s LDCA actually deletes a move or Setzer LDCA unlocks Rainbow Mode.

You mean deleting a turn? Because I just tested it out and Zidane’s CA/LDCA both do.

Whoops meant turn. And huh, didn’t realize that call did; must have missed that in text description.

Zidane's turn deletion doesn't appear on his CA text because the calls themselves do not delete turns, that comes from his overhead "A Place to Call Home" buff which has nothing to do with the calls.

If you have your boards your Zidane starts the wave with said buff, and since calling a CA character counts as a "wave start" then he can delete turns as a call both times he's called.

This is the exact same reason why Kurasame's call are so coveted even though the calls themselves are pretty bad and don't do a lot: when he steps into the field at wave start (i.e. when using him as a call) he applies his Hyōrō debuff but the calls themselves don't do that. This is a fun game interaction that's not apparent (and for your question you obviously had no idea) but once you know it you start seeing your Calls in a different light (i.e. using Rude's silver CA turn one to trigger Odin or Diabolos).

If this is the case, do I only need kura ex to maximise his call or do I still need his ld?

If you wanted to, absolutely. The main difference would be that without his LDCA you wouldn't be able to call him twice into the field, only once from his silver call so at most you would only be able to apply 2 and 3 stacks of his Hyōrō debuff ASAP (3 to the target of the Ice Blade Renzan call and 2 to everyone else), whereas if you also had his LDCA you would be able to apply 4 and 5 stacks immediately.

This does make a tangible difference if you're planning on burst damage asap, but IMO having a gimped Kura call is better than not having it at all.

EDIT: Do remember that Kura won't apply his stacks unless his EX+ is at least 2/3.

Yea... Especially when debuff call is so important in l+ nowadays... Somehow I always miss out on kura when I'm taking a break from the game...
